there are eight journeys whiche chage lives forver----a NewYork fashion buyers returns to her English home,(The way home) a successful author meets an old friend, (The natural of truth)a reproter travels to an execution, (just the fact)a lorry dirver gives an escaped prisoner an lift,(Water in the desert) a taxi driver picks up"Bruce Lee", a bus ride home chages a film writer's life and work, a man's love for a tram driver leads him to follow her, and four strangers mmet at a meotel for the first and last time. Comparing the strories happened in England, I prefer the strory happened in the U.S , and ralated to China, like The knowledge, Water in the Desert. When I read about"The pole is as big as TX", I smiled .
Well-written descriptions of people, places and scenes.
Different narrators and perspectives.
I liked the most "Just the facts" about an execution and "The Knowledge" about "Bruce Lee". I liked the least "Fifteen hundred words" about a screenwriter who has to invent a story about a couple, "North See Eyes" about a person who falls in love with a tram driver, and "End Point" about four guests at a motel.
This is my first-ever reading book. I suddenly fell in love with the first chapter and went on to nearly the last chapter, getting more and more excited. This book was the best practice for my English, which improved all the time. I apply the author's writing style to my experience background like in the job application resume. It sounds like a perfect example of professional English storytelling.
🏫Es un libro que pertenece a una colección de Cambridge del nivel C1 de inglés.
✍🏼El libro está dividido en 8 historias acerca de la vida de periodistas.
•The way home. •The nature of truth. •Just the facts. •Water in the desert. •The knowledge. •Fifteen hundred words. •North sea eyes. •End point

I found this series of original fiction easier for me to read even though they are level-six stories. I realized it is because it if for English learners and the writer knows what people want to read (and it could be "cliche" or even "cheesy".) It includes:
The Way Home The Nature of Truth Just the Facts Water in the Desert The Knowledge Fifteen Hundred Words North Sea Eyes End Point
I liked the writing style in "Fifteen Hundred Words" and "End Point."
It's a really good book for English learners. I have to say that I liked more stories 2 and 4. Story 2, "The Nature of Truth",'cause its final was so good, I just laughed a lot. And story 4, "Water in the Desert", 'cause it was quite the same as num. 2, with those unexpected finals.
The only thing I liked is that I took some good quotes, apart from that I didn’t like it, the stories were boring plus it gave that feeling of being old but boring. Even though it gave very good reflections.
