Collide #4

When Cravings Collide

Rate this book
Twins, Scott and Devon, are inseparable. Double dates, double holidays, double celebrations. It’s too much for some of their ex-boyfriends, which is why they’re still single. When Scott finds his feelings for his brother changing, he’s at a loss of what to do until Devon takes matters into his own hands - or rather, mouth. Devon, himself, is shocked by what he did, but he can’t get it out of his mind. When he finds the club Freedom, he realises they may have found their best chance at figuring out what’s going on between them.

One taste is not enough, but can they really ignore the bond they’ve had since birth?

An MM twins taboo romance.

Elouise East

Elouise East writes sweet and steamy connections in gay romance. She also touches on taboo stories under the name Elouise R East.

Books that tell the stories where friendship and family are the focal point - be it blood family or chosen - are very important to her. That’s why she includes a variety of personalities, talents, ages, situations and abilities as she believes a story or character needs. She wants her characters to be real, to be relatable, to be free to have whatever views they tell her they have. And trust her, most of the time, she does not have any say in the matter!

Her characters come to life on the page for her as well as her readers. Their stories unfold in front of her as she writes, and she has very little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of her characters change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

She writes books that are emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of the stories. She doesn’t know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.

Who is she? A single parent to two children living in the UK. An avid reader who still tries to devour every book she can get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.

Who’s joining her on her journey?

Beautifully written couldn't put it down.
Twins Scott and Devon have been extremely close all their lives, even living together as adults. Both date but always go out as a foursome, never having long term relationships as partners think it's strange being so close to their brother/twin.
After watching porn one night , their relationship changes.
This book describes some of the hard decisions they have to make. But they find friends at the club Freedom who have been through what they are going through.
Devon has always needed,/relied on Scott. And Scott would do anything in his power to keep Devon safe and happy
Thoroughly enjoyed, can be read as standalone, but great to read rest of books as previous characters mentioned in this book
I received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review

When Cravings Collide is the fourth book in the Collide series by Elouise East. This book is about Devon and Scott. Devon and Scott are twins. This is a taboo romance.

I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.

As with all of Elouise East's taboo books, I wished this was longer because it was so good and steamy and sweet. Though this the 4th book in the Collide series, this can be read as a standalone. There is small cameos from characters of the previous books in the series, but they are introduced and explained well enough that you do not need to read the previous books.

I liked that it didn't take long for the twins do something with each other and to reciprocate their feelings for each other. It's pretty low-angst in that there is no back-and-forth or waffling (maybe for a little bit). They know they want each other and they get right to the affectionate gestures, touching, and hot hot hot smutty scenes. There's no discovery scene, but there is mention of 2 coworkers of Devon's finding out, but it wasn't a big blow-out, so this still remained pretty low-angst.

I also liked that Scott and Devon were able to meet the other 'cest couples as a source of support and friendship. That was very heartwarming and such a nice touch to the book. I also liked that Scott and Devon are older MCs at 35-years-old. Almost all twincest/brocest books have the MCs around the new-adult age between 18 and early 20s, so it's refreshing to read ones in their mid-30s.

Cannot wait for the next taboo book from Elouise East. She writes them so well, and even though it always takes place in the UK, the speech, text, and grammar is not a problem at all and everything flowed very smoothly.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by the author.

Always reliant on each other in some way, twins Scott and Devon’s lives have been closely intertwined from living together to relationships.
When deeper feelings stir between them, they find themselves exploring a new direction in their relationship that will have lasting consequences.

A relatively low angst, taboo read that is engaging and well developed. I liked that the main characters are older and more set in life. The progression of their relationship felt more natural for them.
A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Wow! Short, steamy, emotional and impactful as we see twins, Scott and Devon, begin to cross from brothers who are always together to brothers wo are together always... this is a fairly low angst read that gives us a glimpse into how this pair become a couple and navigate the taboo nature of their relationship while melting the screen of my kindle...

This book can be read standalone, but does mention the couples from the first three Collide books - all navigating different taboo relationships...

Arc review

Can be read as a standalone but the other characters from the previous books are mentioned, Niko and Wyatt. I think I missed that one so I'm going to go back and read it. Their characters were intriguing but I don't feel like I missed anything vital reading them out of order.

This book is very taboo. It is also very sexy and sweet and well written with great world building and wonderful characters. It is short but still covers enough of their relationship to feel complete and I enjoyed their story from start to finish.

Scott and Devon are wonderfully written characters and this romance is an easy read. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to dip their toes into these waters in a well written book without darkness or lots of angst. Very much appreciated having this story be about older characters that I could easily buy knowing their own minds in this situation.

A steamy read with plenty of taboo bits. I found the processing and acceptance of their desires a little rushed and would like that to have been worked through more with further dialogue. But a good read which I think would be a little more enjoyable had I read the others in the series.

”Mine to cherish.” He nipped Devon’s lips. “Mine to worship.” He kissed along his jaw. “Mine to fuck.” He stared into Devon’s eyes. “Mine to love,” he whispered.

Warnings: Brother-Brother Incest

My Ratings:
Spice: 3/5
Angst/Stress: 1.5/5
Fluff: 1.5/5
Structure/Format/Flow: 4/5
Overall: 4.5/5

Stuff I Want To Mention:
3rd Person, Dual POV
We start off strong with a joint jack off session that gets a little heated pretty quick. Fraternal twins, Scott and Devon, crossed the line and there is just no going back. Scott struggles a little more than Devon with the idea of being with their brother romantically, but neither has a horrible time trying to come to terms. Devon seems to be the more.. What word am I looking for? Not fragile or needy, but like, sensitive? We get to see our old main characters from previous books as well as the kink club, Freedom. There is not a great deal of angst but there are things the twins end up having to deal with. I wish we could have gotten a longer story that addressed their parents and Devon’s bully more, but I want longer stories with all of the Collide books.

It can be safely assumed all of my reviews are from books that are 1st Person, have a HEA, and have no intimate or spicy scenes with anyone/thing other than MC(s). I try to rate books objectively if they have something I don’t typically like (i.e. Break Ups, SA, 3rd Person, Single POV, Sharing Partners). If it’s still written well the author deserves the praise but I will make note to avoid for myself in the future. I do my best to mark different triggers/warnings as well as the intimate acts performed in case anything listed/done might not be something you would want to read. If M/M, Age Play, Interspecies, Insta Love, Erotica, MPreg, or Incest are something you actively avoid, you are probably better off avoiding most of the books I review.

DNF: Something off, couldn’t finish because of it.
1 Star: No, thanks. Something super wrong.
2 Stars: Oh that was something but it was not something for me.
3 Stars: Decent, some things didn’t sit or read right but it was worth the effort.
4 Stars: Really enjoyed it, might read again even.
5 Stars: Super duper enjoyed, written well and read well.
