Translating the Anthon transcript

Rate this book
When asked if he could read the Athon Transcript, Stan said, "Of course not!" His curiosity was piqued piqued however, so he enlarged the transcript and immediately began to see some characters with which he was familiar. The Anthon Transcript consists of authentic characters from the gold plates, which Joseph Smith copied and sent with Martin Harris, to Professor Charles Anthon, in February 1828, fulfilling the prophecy in Isaiah 29: 11-12. Stan's familiarity with Native American languages, in combination with his Egyptian studies, has enabled him to make a literal translation of the Anthon Transcript. Although Stan's method of translation is quite different than Joseph Smith's, which came by the gift and power of God, his translation is yet further evidence that Joesph Smith is a Prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is God's word to us in these latter days.
