CPA Debra Ott finds herself suddenly single after catching her dentist husband "drilling" a patient. Good thing she's too busy with her audit of Tumbleweed Pawn & Pistols to dwell on her heartbreak. When an elusive gun supplier fails to confirm his account, Deb has to dig for answers. But the more she digs, the more danger comes her way. Could digging too deep mean she's digging her own grave?
Even though this was a quick read it was great. CPA Debbie discovered trouble while doing an audit for a local pawn and pistol shop. the story was all wrapped up: a little action a little romance a little mystery all neatly packed into this short book.
There is so much to love about this Tumbleweed novella. Diane Kelly brings her trademark humor into a story about an accountant whose dentist husband was drilling someone else. So begins a really fun, quick read. Deb is a tough, strong woman, and, of course, there's a cat! Highly recommend!
The Trouble with Digging Too Deep (Part of a four-author: Trouble in Tumbleweed series) Diane Kelly Published: August 30, 2022 106 pp.
This is a hysterically funny, laugh-out-loud book! The coolest concept is that it’s the same town, some character crossovers, and written in four parts by four different authors. GENIUS!
I’ve read Kelly’s work for many years now. I love seeing un-filtered Kelly! While her cozies are top-notch, there is just nothing quite like when she really lets loose. I scared my dog quite often by truly laughing that hard at her words! To think just 26n letters produced this much enjoyment… I am chomping at the bits for another round of Trouble in Tumbleweed! Need a pick-me-up? Pick this book up pronto! If possible: 6/5 stars! TXH 10/10/22
I began this series because I read Melissa Bourbon but this installment of the books gave me a new author to read. Diane Kelly writes intriguing characters and an enthralling storyline. As a CPA, Debra “Debit” Ott is doing a standard audit for a client. But her bad week starts with finding her with another woman and decays into bullets flying. Quick thinking protects her time and again but her last minute salvation. Comes from an unusual direction.
