There’s something in the woods. And it’s out of control.
When Ryan realises the danger, he has a difficult decision to make. It’s not easy to own up to your mistakes when you’re in trouble. But if he doesn’t, someone could die.
Will he be able to tame the technology before anyone is killed? Or confess and lose his place at the academy? At thirteen, it’s a harsh choice. But, this time, he only has himself to blame.
Code Zero is the third book in the Ryan Jacobs series: a fast-paced action-packed thriller for a rebellious and digital generation that want to fight the system. If you like teenagers with attitude, you'll love Ryan Jacobs!
Book three in the series has Ryan getting into even more trouble and punishments at his military school. Colonel Keller, Sergeant Wright and Ryan's sworn enemy, cadet Sarrell, are always punishing him for one misdeed or another. This book puts Ryan through even more brutal punishments, like wearing the same clothes for a week and running 6 miles every morning before breakfast.
But an ex-cadet, known as the Outlier, has launched a brilliant computer program that takes millions of pounds (British currency) from the rich and redistributes it to other people. Ryan and a few other cadets are tasked with stopping the program.
As Ryan becomes more rebellious and receives more brutal repercussions, he receives a message from the Outlier that makes him question who really are the "good guys" who surround him. The Outlier's communication makes enormous sense to Ryan, but can he trust the words of a disgruntled and escaped ex-student of the Academy? Or should he begin to "toe the line" according to the Academy's rules?
With brilliantly plotted storylines, the correct amount of snark, and wonderfully despicable antagonists, this book manages to keep readers of all ages turning its pages to arrive at the conclusion of this ongoing saga of Ryan. And, of course, the end of this term has Ryan cleverly continuing his rebellious antics, much to this reader's enjoyment.
Being the student that gets new punishments added faster than he can work any prior punishment off his list makes his reputation as being like the Outlier true, but when it impresses the school with his abilities to solve impossible problems while being harassed into being crazy and tougher than any other student, it builds respect and support among friends.
Another adventure with my favorite rebellious teenage hacker at the elite Devonmoor Academy. I thought from book 2 Ryan was finally learning to work with others but it looks like I was wrong. Will he ever truly learn? I don't know but I am already looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble he gets into next. This series is so much fun.
I love love love Ryan he’s so funny and rebellious that’s what I love about this book is that it’s so much fun that you end up giving it a five stars I flew through this one as always and Ryan will now be one my favourite fictional boys that I’ll never stop reading or talking about he’s full of fun and despite I’m not a boy but I truly enjoyed these books so much that if I have a son one day I would make him read them!
