Sada gives a new meaning to sleeping with the enemy. When her relationship with Ju is exposed, she learns a shocking discovery that makes her sick to her stomach. What she thought was a blossoming love affair, turns out to be a betrayal that snatches the air from her lungs. She’s filled with regret but soon learns that everything she once knew was just a facade.
Worth and Karin experience a low blow that they can’t recover from. After spewing words he can never take back, Worth finds himself in the arms of someone familiar. It’s refreshing, until he can no longer mask his true feelings. On top of his woes with Karin, Worth is placed in a destructive situation that may cost him his life.
Omir is conflicted with his feelings for Bellamy. Everything within him wants to duck their flourishing courtship but there’s a magnetic pull that he can’t flee from. Taking advice from someone close to him, he decides to let his situation with Bellamy flow, that is until an unexpected event places the both of them in a dilemma that may not be easy for them to conquer.
The Ali men are back with more problems than they can manage. Will they find themselves on the winning side or will they succumb to their new set of issues?
Y’all know how Charae do. Things turned up in book 2. Omir, Worth and Ju all seem as if they’re making progress… well as far as relationships go. But that childhood trauma have a hold on them and readers are left wondering if any of these men will get a happily ever after. As far the ladies… Bells is still my favorite. I believe Sada deserves a little grace… so she’s still ok in my book. As for Little Miss Superhead (Karin) she made me proud until we got to the end. After the ending of book 1 I’m sure readers are wondering “what in the world can she spring on us at the end of book 2?” Let’s just say book 3 can’t get here fast enough!!
This story is crazy but could easily be fixed if everybody quit running from their problems and talked things out. I hate how a lot of times our black men don’t wanna seek a therapist not knowing how much it would help to get that baggage of their chest. These men are so troubled it’s sad. All they need is love and everything they’ve been through is ruining that chance. I can’t believe that ending tho brought real tears to my eyes 🥲
Part 2 got me in my feelings… This book picks up where we left off and it was just so many twists and turns. I still want Bells, Omir, Ju to win. Hopefully I get my wish in Part 3 but with that ending everything is up in the air. Can’t wait for part 3.
There was so much happening, wow!!! I think every other chapter I found a different favorite character! It constantly changes. I feel like book two was heavily involved with the men trying to maneuver through their relations with the women. The men also went through a lot of things between each other- which made me sad. But I also understand that they have had a lot of traumatic experiences and it seems that that plays a huge role in how they respond to each other and those around them. I really enjoyed the story and the plot twists and drama as it unfolded. Good work!
Didn’t expect nothing less from this read! All I need Bellamy to do is fix what she broke, don’t do my boy like that he trying. That end though….took me out. I don’t want to say no more. This book picked up where the first one left off and it did not disappoint!! Get into it, part 3 me now!!
Charae does not play fair and I was not remotely prepared to have my edges snatched the last 20 pages of this book!!! Omir and Bellamy give me all the feels and I really hope they can withstand this hurdle. Ju and Sada y’all have come to far for this foolishness!! Worth and Karin are no good for each other and I hope she leaves him where he stands but I know she wont because love makes us do some crazy things!!! I’m so ready for part 3. Please be the finale because my heart can’t take anymore 😩😩
This was a good read looking forward to book 3. I am disappointed in Karin and at times wanted to shake some sense into her. Her character became weak and I didn’t like that . I also felt in book 2 we really didn’t hear much of Karin’s story . I’m hoping in book 3 she’ll have some character grow. Overall, looking forward to book 3
Jesus take the wheel. I’m just going to start this review saying we ALL need to pray for Worth. He has soooooo much growing he needs to do. I was really hoping that with his separation from Karin that he would start to see he needs help. Like dude you have every excuse in the world why you justify your action. With the secret Karin is now holding I low key hope it’s not his cause he is not ready lord.
Ms. Charae once again you did your thing with crafting these characters. For each Ali man you have created their prefect match. Omir has such a deep hate and distrust of women and you gave him Bellamy, someone who is showing him why there are some women you can trust. I love that she gives just as good as she gets.
You gave Ju, Sada who is a beautiful representation of a mothers love and dedication to her child. So for a man like Ju who craves a mothers love and suffers from abandonment issues Sada speaks to him.
Now Worth and Karin I’m not quite sure about these two yet because they come off more toxic then anything else. Like I said we need to pray. I can’t wait for the continuation of the Ali men and the women they love.
Giving this 5 stars
P.S those pages showing how Randi worked to destroy these men spirits was hard to read like I really can’t stand that women. Death was to easy of an out for her.
Listen im absolutely distraught, heartbroken, confused at how pt 2 played out. I see Worth still on his B$ like he’s perfect. Men be so trifling. They drag you thru the mud, and when you mess up its the biggest thing in the world. I absolutely LOVE the progress Omir made, how that blind lady gon play my boy like that, that really was some bird behavior smh. Im not even gon say nothing about the end cause baybeeeee, Charae will put you THROUGH it. I’m pretty sure I cried every other page, it really be the flashbacks that shatter my heart to literal pieces every time. You sometimes never realize how self sabotaging childhood trauma can be, we always speak on the effects of it through our relationships, but damn does that trauma rip you of experiencing life.
Charae just writes and captures characters, especially their trauma SO beautifully. Her story telling skills are on a whole other level, taking everyday people… their experiences, hurt, losses, etc. and creating a story that you get so deep and being able to experience it, navigate it.. as if its your own is a gift Charae received by God himself.
Her stories will never get old, boring or repetitive charae is top 2 and NOT 2
Karin annoyed me to no end. Amore is a better friend than I could ever be. I am a firm believer in standing by your actions. Good, Bad or Whatever. I couldn’t take Karin and her uncertainty and overbearing family.
Ju is the heart of the story and I was really rooting for him and Sada.I understand him being young but, sometimes the way a person grows up. Forces them to mature faster.
I really am invested in Omir and Bellamy’s story the MOST. I kept wondering why Charae made her impaired but, I can respect her choice to make the character “different” than the norm. It definitely added to the mystique of Bellamy. Being as independent as she is was quite eye-opening.
I realized at around 80% there was going to be another installment and I’m not mad at that. Because the wait is never too long and I appreciate the fact that there is no repetition. I am so anxious to see what became of Randi. Homegirl was one for the books! Can’t Wait!
But I LOVED it! PLEASE! You BET not do what I think you about to do! Not my baby Ju! I need part 3 ASAP! Not in a little while, not in a minute, ASAP! Charae never misses! Girl you have a lethal pen game and I’m here for it! I’m loving all the brothers even though all of them are stressing me out to the max!
Worth is a hot mess! He really needs to get a handle on his impulsivity and his anger. How one woman seemed to have ruined three lives is amazing to me smh. Randy is the DEVIL!
Omir is working my ever lasting nerve with his she man woman hating antics and needs to get a grip! He is gonna lose out on life just like everybody keep telling him if he don’t learn how to open up at least a little bit.
Ju smh, he’s the one I can tolerate the most out of the three of them. He just needs to grow up a little bit and not let his cousins influence him too much. I like Sada for him and I hope he can work it out with her in the end.
All three needs some intense therapy. Randi really messed them up, by telling them y'all ain't ish, talking about their manhood when they get grown, telling them nobody is going to love them. Everything about how Troy got shot and who shot has been a lie. Omir is going to feel bad he wasn't there when Ju got shot. Darlene and Wallace must be broke because why are they still pressing for Karin to marry Zyair. Jonathan sold his sister out for a truck. Ju is wrong because slept with Tichina. I think Tichina sault him out to prove to Sada, he wasn't ish. Omir is starting to love Bellamy, but was engaged to Lavon. Lavon is a punk. Worth is starting to feel bad about everything he said when he saw Karin at the club. Now Karin is pregnant with Worth's baby but she lost him.
I guess I can agree with Omir because Worth is a loose cannon because look what happened as a result at the end. I hope the Ali's fix they family problems. I get Bellamy didn't want to hurt Lavon in front of her family but I wouldn't had accepted the ring knowing she was feeling someone else. She knows how troubled Omir is when it comes to opening up to women and him finding out about the engagement really could have hurt him whether he cares to show it or not. Ju mannnnn yes he's young but he didn't know about they friendship. Hope everyone fixes they issues in the next book.
This was dead on! Full of action packed drama, empathy, love, lies; name it and it was included in this series. I loved it! Toni seems to have the best at heart for Sada and Noah. Bellamy’s grandmother is deceitful and I did like her actions at all. Leesha was cool though. Bellamy and Omir are my favorite couple. My heart goes out to Ju though. I am disappointed in Worth! I can’t say nothing good about him right now. I don’t think Sada deserves Ju at this stage in her life; she is wishy washy. Karin has the potential to be successful but not with Worth.
I’m really rooting for Omir and Bells, as well as Ju and Sada. Worth an Karin do to much back and forth for me. Worth is also very selfish and reckless you can’t keep using the past to do people any kind of way. He doesn’t take responsibility. Ju is the baby of the Ali men but is way more mature than worth. Karin has some growing up to do all she does is avoid dealing with problems she helped create. I find it hard to root for them as a couple. Overall great read.
Omg back at it again. I need Book 3 like yesterday. It was soooo good. I’m so glad I finally read it. Things are taking a turn and fast. Wasn’t expecting things to go how they went. Ju- He’s not as bad as I thought. Loved seeing him and Sada get close. Worth- Still a hot head but I now understand why he’s the way he is. Omir- Is bossing up becoming to his own. I love that for him. I don’t like how he is letting my girl Bells down. Overall those Ali mean ain’t nothing to play with ok. Loved everything about this series just read the book. You won’t be disappointed at all.
Omg so much happened in this book. Sada returning home not quite sure what to expect with all that has been revealed. Her and Ju work things out only for things to fall apart. I'm hoping the worst doesn't happen to him in the next book. Karin has a dilemma of who fathered her child. She has enough going on with her family, school and breakup with Worth that a baby is not on her timeline. Omir fighting is growing feelings for Bellamy until everything comes to a hault when he finds out she's engaged. Can't wait to see what the finale brings!!!
I was riveted! This book had me in a chokehold from beginning to end! I’m so sorry it ended. Charae has me so invested in Ju, Worth, and Omir with their dysfunctional selves. They need to be laying on someone’s couch ASAP. Their toxicity is ruining any chance they have at happiness. Charae is such an awesome storyteller! This series is so bomb! Can wait for the next one!
Omg Charae!! Why did you do this to me?! I was hoping this would be the finale. Seriously, I wanted all the answers and for my guys to get their happily ever after. Instead, I was left with many questions unanswered and the guys relationships with their ladies in shambles. I need to know if my favorite Ju makes it 😩 out of that shooting alive!! All in all, great read. The plot is always on point with Charae.
All three men, Ju, Worth and Omir are damaged. They need too much from a woman that it is almost impossible to be in a relationship with them. Ju has severe abandonment issues, Worth is a hypocrite and selfish, Omir is so blocked and emotionally challenged that his trust is nonexistent when it comes to a woman. Yet, these 3 men are providers and cAretakers. They know how to love but reject being loved comfortably by their women.
Omir, Worth and Ju were so messed up from their childhood trauma that they just couldn’t get their lives together. This book had just as much trauma as book one and I definitely cannot wait to read book three. Karin finally stop letting her family dictate her life, but she is wrong for handling things the way that she is right now. I’m hoping for a happy ending for all of the Ali men in the end tho. Charae Lewis does it again with this well written, action packed story.
This installment was frustrating due to the consequences brought on as a result of decisions made by Worth, Bellamy, and Karin most of all! But Ju, Omir and Sada weren't immune to a few head scratching moments either! My hope is by book three we get to experience some growth and maturity reflected in their actions. Either way, there's never a dull moment in a Charae Lewis story!
These characters are back with more drama that doesn't seem to end. Secrets have been revealed and threats have been made. Aside from watching their backs from enemies, will Worth, Omir and Ju finally get the help they need in order to fully enjoy and open up to the idea of a meaningful relationship with the women who have come into their lives. I'm rooting for Omir and Bellamy. Can't wait what's in store for part 3.
These Ali men come with so many issues. Ashanti, Karin, Sada, and Bellamy need to run away as fast as they can 😂 on a serious note it is a struggle for the, to allow love in because of their upbringing. Karin made me proud dipping on her family. Ju is the sweetest and loves Sada but how can he protect her when he can’t protect himself. Omir is the closest to being free from his last! On to book 3!
The flashbacks enrage me because sadly there are some women who do not deserve to procreate. The ending ripped my heart in two but I'm going to keep reading in hopes it will mend. Also I hate the stigma our community has played on therapy. The constant encouragement for the Ali brothers to go to therapy is a breath of fresh air because honestly it's a must when you've been through certain circumstances.
Sorry this is late! I had to get out my feelings before I wrote this! Because baby I was hot by the time I finished! I was like warm at 67%. That’s how I know she is writing the hell out of this series! Each book makes me madder then the 1 before! If this was any indication I’m not gonna have any edges by the end of the next one! Phenomenal
