The long-awaited third book in the Where the Mongrels Are series by M.F. Adele is finally here. It took me a minute to remember all that was going on but once I did... Things are amping up and For the Strong and the Fragile was exciting.

I liked Ada from the start for the sheer fact that she rolled with the punches. Her whole world changed, did she freak out? No. She asked questions and understood the situation. She's still asking questions, I love her curiosity and her intelligence. She uses both of those aspects in her new role as Queen of the Mongrels. Ada has taken to being queen very well. She feels more composed and in charge than she did before while still allowing happiness and friendships to grow. Ada is thriving.

The guys don't know what to do with themselves let alone Ada. They're still trying to figure out their relationship with Ada, especially after learning about her new role. But things are good, they're communicating and taking their relationship to a whole new level. Readers were also given more of the guys' history, interesting things that we didn't know before. Bonus Ecaeris has grown on me, his attitude has gotten so much better.

The plot really highlighted female friendship. Rinya has been there from the beginning and I love her but now the introduction of Madigan "Madi", Ada's friend from Earth and the new Shade Queen there's a real camaraderie between the girls that I loved. The closeness, understanding, support, and care were fantastic. Plus the humor and snark were great too. This also includes the former queen Isolde, who is a mentor and friend, and a hoot. I adore her.

There was more elemental magic in this, I love seeing them use their magic in new and exciting ways. There were also more questions and not enough answers. The beast issue is still ongoing but there's a new theory, Nesta (the former Shade queen) is hellbent on destruction, more is learned about the gods of this new world, and new characters are introduced. I loved every single moment of it.

Adele created an amazing fantasy world. For the Strong and the Fragile was a marvelous read that introduced a few new and interesting characters. I'm a little confused as to if this is the final Mongrels book and the series will continue its overall story arc with another group of characters (in another series) or if Ada will get more books. One thing for sure is that Adele hinted that there's a lot more to this world than I originally believed and now I wanna know what's next.

The final book in the Where the Mongrels Are series, For the Strong and Fragile, is finally here! Ada continues to be the strong, roll with the flow type character that I only wish I could be like. This book is jam packed with background information, relationship building, and pure magic. I've loved every moment of reading this series. There are still some open-ended questions that make me believe we may get more of this fantasy world in the future and I'm definitely down for more!

I am really enjoying this series. I love Ada's character and how she is taking on her roles and her relationships. I like Madi and the friendship she shares with Ada. This does answer some questions from the other books but it also leaves you with so many more.

For the Strong and Fragile is the third and final book in the Where The Mongrels Are Series. This has been such an awesome series. Ada is a fabulous FMC and I absolutely love her personality. I also loved the writing, pace, flow, characters, storyline, storytelling, character development, relationship development, and world building. This is definitely a series that I would highly recommend.

This final book in Ada's story was everything I hoped for and more! I have loved Ada since the very first book. Even through all of these crazy changes in her life, she has been so open and logical about everything. So many new things-- from a new world to unique powers to relationships aplenty, Ava has really just gone with the flow, experiencing things as they come and keeping a level head. She has so much strength and intelligence as a fmc and was such a phenomenal character to start this series with! I loved seeing the way her mind worked and how she approached each new situation or problem that came her way. She really shined in this final book, pushing her powers to unprecedented limits and really thinking outside the box.

Ada's relationship with Madigan was one of my favorite things about this book. Even with their rocky last moments together years before, they came together beautifully with their friendship. It was like riding a bike. I thought it was great for Ada to have another person there who would get all of her jokes and references, someone who she shared cherished memories with and who just understood everything she was going through. Ada always had the guys to rely on, but they would never get her like someone who she grew up with. Ada and Madigan were the perfect duo in this book.

Ada's chapter may be closing but another one is soon to open. I am beyond excited to see what else becomes of this series and the journey that each of the other queens/goddesses goes through. I'm curious as to whose story will be next. With Madigan playing a larger part in this book, will we follow her next or will the storyline be handed off to Greer since the epilogue was in her POV? Either way, I am eager to read more about this world and how the queen's plan to save their people.

4 Stars - Incomplete Series!!

I’ve been tricked!! This isn’t the last book in the series—maybe it’s the last one about Ada and her guys, but the main plot and storyline are far from complete. It looks like Greer, the Howler Queen, will be up next.

I finished this book a bit confused. This appears to be the last book of the series or at least from the Mongrels POV. I read it thinking it was the last book but as I got further through the book I could tell so many things wouldn’t be answered. For me, I was expecting a lot more answers than we received. There’s still so much we don’t know. Still don’t know why Imy is so reserved. We randomly threw Sfear‘s name out there like it was nothing. How did Madi die? She became a goddess already when they said they couldn’t feel her power? Or was that a result of Nesta beating her down? Nesta is immortal too, so why would those seeds be poisonous to her? At least, if she hasn’t stepped down yet. Who has a human father? Are all the queens from earth? Do they all come at the same time like the new queens did? I also didn’t like Ada being somewhat reckless just because she can’t die.

Finally figured out what the days mean in this book. I kind of appreciate that there’s no group play.

Misspelled words.

A great read as always.

We got to see Ada become more accepting of her role within the mongrel tribe and get to know Madison more as a character. Plenty of scenes of Ada with each of her men throughout the book and we get a glimpse of Madison's men too. We got a small look at Nesta but I do felt this book left questions which might be answered in more books based in this universe from the perspective of the other queens. We meet the howler queen briefly so looking forward to finding out more about her in the future.

Plenty still happens in this book to further the plot and left room for more when we get the other queens' stories within their own tribes while still finding out more of the overall plot. Recommend this series if you haven't read it yet, it is a great universe to get into.

I read all three books in this series back-to-back, and I'm glad I had them all so I could! Ada was a lot of fun, I loved her sass.

Where she ended up here, compared to where she started in book one was a big change! I enjoyed following her journey, learning about her life and seeing her adapt to the world around her.

The male MCs were all different but equally fun to read about, as was Isolde. Her answers and teachings were as frustrating as they were helpful.

Ada's story is finished but there's still more that needs to be tied up. There's unanswered questions! I hope to read more in this world in the future.

I just I just aagghhhrrrr
I was not expecting this ending so here is for others: the story does NOT end here! There will be more to come!

Now that that's out of the way...
I absolutely LOVE Ada! And now that Madi is here. seeing them two and Ria together is amazing! She's definitely taking everything waaayyy better than I ever would. The guys? Not so much, and it's hilarious!
Can't wait to see what happens next and to get to know the other queens! Something tells me there's many surprises ahead.

For the Strong and Fragile is book 3 and final book in this series. Only it felt unfinished to me but I'm kinda thinking we may be getting more books in this world. Everything in this book seems to lead to a confrontation with Nesta that doesn't happen yet but builds up to it. Ada (FMC) and her friend -Madi get to come to terms (in this new world) with their relationship break down and how to rekindle it now. A few laughs, tears and plenty of steam in this conclusion. A great read.

Gorgeous ending to a beautiful trio.

This book really highlights Ada stepping into her role as goddess and healing some of her human relationships. Madigan has arrived on the scene and she sparks all kinds of things. Once thing is certain- war is coming. Ada and Mad must figure out how to work together if they hope to unite the island against Nesta. Oh, the case of the missing undergarments is solved finally!

I absolutely loved the first book, and then it went downhill fast. This book does not give any answers and just recaps the relationship stuff. We meet a lot of people but I don’t feel like we learn anything new. It’s just to much feeling and reflecting and almost no action.
It feels like this and the second book was written without any inspiration 🙈

With such a glorious premise I’m really sad this book is not for me.

Brilliant read. Love this series.
Ada is still in this new world learning who she is and about the mongrels that are surrounding her. Shades are needing their help and Ada is not one to turn them away. Ada is fighting to become this person Isolde thinks she is. but it its going to take time and effort that they just don't have now that Nesta is coming.
Brilliant read.

What a beautiful beginning! Despite this being the end of Ada's pov, I am so excited to get to know the other goddesses! This story was mesmerizing and wonderful. Ada's journey so far with her Mongrels has been beyond entertaining, I would go so far as to say I was enraptured with this story!! It deserves all the stars but I will settle for 5*****

I love Ada and all of her strength. I love to have seen here growth into her role. There is so much development showcased in this third book of the series. It has some great laughs, tears and steam. There are some lingering questions for me and I how there is more to come from this world.
