__________________Code Dead is the ninth book in this gripping series, but the Ingrid Skyberg novels can be enjoyed in any order.
Eva Hudson was born and raised in south London. Before taking up writing seriously at the age of 43, Eva worked as a local government officer, singer, dotcom entrepreneur, portrait artist, web designer, project manager and content editor.
In 2011 her first novel, The Loyal Servant, won the inaugural Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize from Cambridge University. The book was also shortlisted for UK TV's People's Novelist Competition.
In 2013, Eva received a terminal cancer diagnosis and this spurred her on to write the book she always wanted to read, a female Jack Reacher adventure. She created Ingrid Skyberg, an FBI agent working out the US embassy in London who's tenacious, resilient and determined, qualities Eva herself had in abundance as she went through treatment. Before she died in 2015, Eva had published four Skyberg books. She also left an unfinished manuscript and notes for future adventures with her partner and editor Jo Monroe who continues to write the series.

Code Dead took off like a rocket and never stopped. Dinner time came and went - bedtime came and went and I just kept reading to the end. Grab a copy and thank Eva Hudson for writing another excellent, thrilling mystery in the Skyberg series.
This story takes the reader into the world of technology, along with rural country village life in the UK. Malware known as Nessy is being released around the world, corrupting industrial computer systems. Then there is an unknown called Later Boy who seems able to predict the release of the malware but has disappeared, and a kidnapping and release of a woman. This strange series of events finds Ingrid Skyberg deep in another case after her assistance is requested from back in the US and she accidently meets the distraught woman who has just been released from her kidnapping ordeal. The story flows well and leads back to the US when the woman’s kidnappers have American and other Caucasian accents. Quite an enthralling story with twists and turns, some violence and a satisfactory outcome for Ingrid Skyberg. Moses
I'm a sucker for a strong female protagonist, and for books that feature an American in Britain. This series gives me both. Better still, the books are well-written. Likable characters your want to spend some time with. A story that moves quickly and engages both your brain and your emotions. I appreciate that each book has a full story arc with a satisfying conclusion. Doesn't leave you feeling cheated. Looking forward to the next book!
A really good read! I love books packed with adventure featuring a take no prisoners female lead who hunts down criminals while stopping bad stuff from happening to.everyday people. Was surprised I actually liked the cyber based plot, which I didn't think I'd like. Definitely hard to put down until it was over.
Maybe it is me but these thrillers seem to be getting better and better. And I never thought that one person, no not Ingrid, the tech savvy Kieran, could have so many people after his blood! Kieran, the young blogger who found a patch that could stop a world wide catastrophe via computers. Complex but compelling sums up this novel. A brilliant story!

An excellent account of an attempt to manipulate the stock market by destroying industrial manufacturing companies via computer code. And Ingrid is in the middle...
