Once Upon a Drabble

Rate this book
Once upon a time, over 50 international authors came together to bring to you tales of dragons, wolves, and imps spinning straw into gold. But these aren’t the stories you were told as a young child, oh no. These are fairytales spun from what might have happened had the tables turned.

Maybe a female knight saves the damsel in distress; or the Queen never guesses Rumplestiltskin’s name. Perhaps the sleeping princess isn’t quite who you thought she was. If you’ve grown tired of the same old “once upon a time” stories, check out Black Ink Fiction’s “Once Upon a Drabble” to get a new twist on these 100-word stories.

A delightful collection of fairytale-inspired drabbles. Every story is told in exactly 100 words and puts a fresh spin on an old tale. Each author brings their own style to the collection. There is humor, there is fear, there is romance, there is adventure. A wonderful anthology for fairytale lovers looking for new riffs on the classics.

This collection features 5 of my own drabbles.

A few of my favorite drabbles were (in order of appearance):
- Jade Wildy's "Rainbow Duck"
- Melody McIntyre's "24 Pairs of Hands" and "Sleeping Fury"
- Jacek Wilkos's "Red"
- Radar DeBoard's "The Sandman's Domain"
- Anne Wilson's "What's in a Name?"
- Miriam Harrison's "The Open Door"
- Brieanne O'Reilly's "Dead to the World"
- Ximena Escobar's "Bell's Wish"
