Rate this book
Too many people often feel stressed out, restless and on edge. When our thoughts are left to wander aimlessly, they tend to take us for a ride wherever they please, with little regard for whether or not we want to go there. This leaves us feeling mentally and emotionally drained due to negative thought patterns that just won't go away.We spend more time regretting the past and worrying about the future than we do enjoying the present moment.Every day, millions upon millions of people suffer needlessly from self-inflicted stress that comes as the result of a restless, out of control mind. It's like they're trapped in a self-made prison, stuck in a state of near constant anxiety and unease. After several severe panic attacks and near constant anxiety that persisted for over half a year, I saw firsthand the effects of an out of control mind. When the mind is restless, all else suffers.Thankfully, there is a meditation. After learning about meditation, I managed to get rid of my panic attacks and anxiety, improve my focus and mental clarity, and bring so much more depth and richness into my life that I had to write a book about it and share what I've learned. This book was written as a complete, science-backed, beginner's guide to the practice of meditation for those that want to quiet their minds and bring more peace into their lives.I wrote this book in simple, easy to follow language that is perfect for both beginners as well as seasoned practitioners who want a fresh perspective. There are zero citations or sources in this book. For as many times as the author says "research shows", "scientific studies have proven" etc he doesn't list any citations for his so called facts. When moving to the techniques portion, he literally repeats himself. He writes paragraph style describing a method and then writes the exact same thing again, but with numbered steps. I feel this is completely unnecessary. I'm under this impression this is the authors first book and I'm sure he had well intentions with wanting to share about the benefits of mediation and how to get started but I would look elsewhere before choosing this one.
