Carolyn was one of you as a kid, with the intriguing seeds planted in her head of the shivering thrill-thoughts that came with words like spanking, or discipline. As with you, those kinds of words and thoughts connected the heated blush of her cheeks with feelings elsewhere, which got more and more interesting the older she got.
I bet you know just what I'm talking about.
Like some, she started writing down these thoughts, escaping into short stories of reluctant heroes willing to take someone they love in hand when it's for her own good... and more shadowy thoughts as her imagination matured.
And like some, she started sharing her writings in newsgroups once she gained some confidence.
There's nothing like the perfectly-turned phrase, the handful of words that can make a feeling wash over you. And if you're reading this, then you have within you some intense feelings that most of the world doesn't understand -- but Carolyn does, and she writes those passions with wondrous abandon. Her specialties are Spanking Romance and Adult Ageplay, so we've grouped the many examples of her work that way.
Spanking Romance Classics are sweeping love stories which dare (in a very un-PC way) to allow their heroine to feel the special love of a strong man who will take her in hand when it's best for her. Carolyn writes very real, rich characters and stories that aren't just excuses to jump from spanking scene to spanking scene. If the timeless tango of pursuing ardor touches you, and the head-rush of Adoring Discipline intrigues you, then you'll love Carolyn's stories!
My view of this book that it was mostly written for the steamy love scenes between Charlotte and Douglas. I found myself getting lost a little in the story. I had to reread a paragraph or two because I thought that I had missed some important moments to the story.
Charlotte ex Princess Royal widow of William living in the United States for years cut off by and from her sister the Queen because her sister married a man that was unsuitable for a Princess. Not only did Charlotte have to leave behind her beloved country and the man that she truly truly loved, Lord Douglas Rothwell she also lost her titles, wealth and all ties to her sister. Charlotte’s sister is on her deathbed, and Douglas, Lord Rothwell has task himself to go to Charlotte in the U.S. to try to talk her into coming back and claiming what is rightfully her birthright to claim. The Queens husband has since died, and they had no heir’s to the throne, so that means Charlotte needs to step up to become Queen. While Douglas is trying to convince her to go back and claim the throne and talk with her sister one final time if it isn’t too late already. She does realize that she still loves Douglas, they have many heartfelt discussions and one secret that she confesses to Douglas about her deceased husband William and why she chose him over Douglas. Will she decide to go back to the castle and claim what is rightfully hers? Will she make it in time to talk with her sister? Will she come to believe that she is indeed Queen material and proceed to lead her country with confidence? Will her and Douglas have that chance at their very own HEA in the castle? This is a story that contains a lot of Dominance/Submissive play, very strong somewhat severe punishment scenes, off the charts wild chemistry. Even though Charlotte is submissive she at times shows a strong willed and determined. I would recommend this story. I have read several from this author and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Another fine addition to my reading library. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.
This is a quintessential Carolyn Faulkner book. Charlotte left her old life behind so that she could marry William, against her sister's, the Queen, will. She has been in America for years when Douglas comes looking for her. Her sister is dying and she is needed to carry on the monarchy. But, Douglas, Lord Rockwell, has a more personal reason to come. He loves Charlotte and wants a second chance with her. Charlotte has a lot of decisions to make. She needs to decide if she wants to allow Douglas back in her life, if she wants to return to her country to make up with her sister and she needs to decide if she wants to be queen. Douglas does not force his opinions on Charlotte, but he makes his opinions known. Douglas was previously Charlotte's dom and plans to continue in that role. There is very strict discipline in this book, but it runs along the lines of most of this author's books. It is consensual between them. I enjoyed the story and of course, the HEA.

I love a dominant MMC and that is Douglas, to a T. He's on a mission to win back Charlotte and return her to her rightful place. It was crystal clear that despite ten years of separation, his love for Charlotte was just as deep, her well-being his primary concern. It wasn't always as easy to figure out Charlotte's feelings but eventually I came to understand that she truly loved Douglas, too.
This very steamy story contains detailed sex scenes which which always seem to be linked with sometimes harsh discipline but Charlotte didn't seem to have a problem with it (although she did give a couple of feeble no's that Douglas disregarded which is not acceptable in this day and age.) Overall, the writing is great and His Queen was an enjoyable read.

This was an entertaining read with likeable characters. It is set around 1963 in America and Anderre. Douglas, Duke of Rockwell was an alpha male and was used to being obeyed. Charlotte and Douglas had an affair many years ago but for some reason she married another man. Charlotte was estranged from her family. When Douglas comes to see Charlotte again, their old feelings for each other immediately surface. However, Douglas has more than one reason for seeing Charlotte again. Will Charlotte be able to forgive the past and move on? This was a steamy read with punishments but there was always a loving thought behind each action. I received a copy and Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Douglas had a torrid love affair with HRH Princess Charlotte, the Princess Royal of Anterre, years ago. She was sent away after she went against the Queen and married another man, deemed unsuitable, breaking Douglas's heart. Now he has come to America to claim her and return her to Anterre. Will Charlotte be able to find the strength to reconcile with her dying sister, take her place as Queen, and to rekindle her love with Douglas? This royal fantasy is well-written with fiery chemistry a heaping spoonful of spice between the H and h. Both characters come to life as relatable, and their world is the stuff of dreams. Their HEA is truly lovely. This is definitely a must read.

Douglas and Charlotte. Douglas and Charlotte have history I think that is why he was sent to return back to her home country. This one started out quickly and kept that pace through the whole book. Lots of steam and of course discipline but she seems to be okay with it and let’s face it Douglas is one dominating man. I enjoyed the book it did touch on the conflict of the two sisters and I do wish there had been a bit more of that. This book is not for everyone but for those who are a fan of Carolyn Faulkner it fit the bill and well into her book offerings. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
Douglas tells Charlotte her sister the Queen is dying and that he has been sent to bring her back. Charlotte was weeding her garden when Douglas Ramsay, Sixteenth Duke of Rockwell appears bringing with him memories of her sister Queen Helena of Anterre stripping her of her royal titles and stipend when she wanted to marry William her late husband. He is there now to tell her that her sister the Queen only has weeks to live and that she needs to return home to take the throne as her sister has no heir. She and Douglas have a past but she had chosen William over him scared of his dominating personality.

This is my second time reading Ms. Faulkner and she does not disappoint one bit.
Set in the modern Era with royalty, Princess Charlotte is exiled from her country and is called to serve as their queen only after her sister with whom she shares a turbulent relationship is on her deathbed with no heir.
Princess Charlotte's ex-lover volunteers for this mission and brings back delightful yet emotional moments for Charlotte.
I loved the scenes and the desire between Douglas and Charlotte - extremely passionate and steamy.
Douglas volunteers to bring Charlotte home. Her sister, the Queen, is dying, and she's next in line for the throne. I admire Charlotte's strength, leaving her home with nothing, to stay with the husband who didn't meet "royal requirements". But Douglas? Totally swoon-worthy, he doesn't force or coerce Charlotte to do anything, rather allowing her to work through her emotions to make the decision to agree with him. It's a wonderful story of forgiveness, with a good bit of steam, and Charlotte taking more than a trip or two over his knee. This is one of my favorite books by the author. This is a typical very well written Carolyn Faulkner story. There are lots of spicy sexy scenes and disciplinary spankings all woven around a very interesting storyline. All the characters are real, alive and rounded. I loved Charlotte from page one, she is a sweet submissive who puts everyone above herself. She needs straight laced maverick Douglas. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this story and I very highly recommend it. This is an enjoyable and interesting story.
Living in exile for so many years, Douglas was not someone Charlotte expected to see. With the Queen, her sister, on her death bed, Douglas is there to take her home and hopefully into his heart. So much history between the two of them, Charlotte realises she is still in love with him. Can they have a future together after so much hurt? A wonderful read.

It was interesting to read Charlottes story but for my pleasure there’s exactly that missing. Her story. So this is an interesting read, but that’s it for me. No real deal story about a girl who is raised at court and gone abroad… but that will not mean that it’s not good written or captivating. Just missing something. For me, that is. I had better from this author before… Enjoy!

In my opinion it’s more sex then there is a story. The story itself is wrapped around all the power exchanges with the older Lord Douglas Rockwell being the dominant over a younger girl (I say girl because he had his eyes on her before she was legal) and he waited for the right time to ‘tame’ the princess. But did he or did he scare her off?? Told in her POV, told in his POV but also told in a third person POV it seemed in a few spots.
A second chance for Princess Royal Charlotte and Douglas, Lord Rothwell. A well written story with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. Douglas is strict when it is needed and she a very strong willed woman. I enjoyed seeing their story come together. The story was well worth reading. I thought this was a good read. I liked the characters and enjoyed the story. The chemistry was noticeable and the heat was steamy. It did take me a bit to fully get into this read but once it hit its stride I became engaged. This is my candid review that I am posting of my own volition.
I enjoyed Douglas & Caroline's book. It was an entertaining read. And a new author for me. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
The great plot was beautifully written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
A sweet, tender, highly entertaining 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 romance featuring a dominant war hero , royalist & his Queen. The ✍ is quite skilled at weaving a tale that captures & hold the reader's attention! Enjoy💃
