As I am a Watson fan, so I held out for his surprising reappearance and the logical explanation. No such luck, but a very touching story which honors his. Memory.
This author is new to me (only just reasonable) he does have one or two big faults. Firstly I doubt his chronology as I cannot see Watson having 3 children under the age of 10 when he was over 70. Secondly the author's modern vocabulary is jarring - can you imagine Sherlock Holmes saying 'OK' or 'get off it' ? The six short stories were mildly entertaining, so, from best to worst in this order: The Man Who Murdered Watson, The Adventure of the Locked House, The Adventure of the Scarred Mariner, The Adventure of the Diamond Chess Pieces, The Adventure of the Severed Fingers and lastly The Adventure of Colonel Warburton's Madness.
