"A basic exploration of the appearance, behaviors, and origins of fairies, the winged, magical creatures known for their tricks or helpfulness. Also included is a story from folklore about how fairies learn to fly"--

I wanted to like this book but it’s really meh. It says there are different types of fairies but then doesn’t explain what they are. There’s also no consistency with photos because they are more painting/old style art as well as photos from Brave (Merida) and Tinkerbell. Either they should do like fairies or the ancient world or do fairies in Disney but not mix them. It was a very very VERY basic book but also not great as an introduction to fairies. Not enough there.
Spare text about fairies' lives. "Fairies build their homes under mounds of earth. Hawthorn marks the way into the fairy world." AND "Fairies honor the start of summer with a parade. It is called the fairy rade. They dress up the animals they ride. Even witches and goblins join the fun."
The series includes Bigfoot, Elves, Fairies, Ghouls, Hippogriffs, and Trolls.
