Looks at the lives of the last eleven presidents, from FDR to Clinton, and includes a profile of each president and photographs that illustrate the complex interplay of personality and power in the Oval Office.
Had this book since 2000 had read half of it. Just got around to reading the rest after president Bush 41, died two weeks ago. Much like reading a newspaper editorial with many pictures throughout. Well written and enjoyable - pretty much leave politics out, other than as necessary in passing . Many pictures showing the highlights of the presidents lives. An enjoyable read.
Written in 2000, it was interesting to see how the reporter/author viewed things as they were occurring, in relation to how he viewed them in hindsight while.writing this book.
