Fropp's Identity - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

A set of the Mark Fropp novellas by Audrey Walker gathered into one volume contains the whole of the secret agent's missions, beginning with:
1) Act of Vengeance:
Mark Fropp (and his father James), survive an assassination attempt on his Dad's life, but Mom, Emilia dies while saving her son.
Mark becomes a CIA Agent, still determined to avenge his Mom.
He falls for Anne, who works for Emilia's killer.
Will she help him seal Zachary's fate?

2) Act of Deception:
Mark Fropp has a team of special friends who've agreed his rescue attempt for Thomas - and Zachary's downfall. They've deliberately kept Anne (and Thomas's mom Hannah), in the dark so they can't let the truth slip.
Does the scheme work?
How is Zachary affected by Thomas's 'kidnap'?
Why is Anne involved in events?

3)Act of Deliverance:
Tensions run high at the castle, where Mark and Thomas must continue the charade that Anne is dead, lest her evil father, Jacob Eames, discover she survived her injuries from the car accident with her Mom.
Who else knows she's there?
Anne's not sure if Mark's to be completely trusted or was using her to get info,(from when she worked for Zachary).
All she really wants is to free her Mom from the prison-like hospital, Jacob has her trapped in.
When their plan succeeds, why isn't she happy?

4)Act of Defiance:
Mark Fropp, girlfriend Anne, her twin brother Philip and their friend Thomas, are all in danger from one source or another, though good fortune, (that comes from a family reunion) is close by for the twins.
Thomas, a journalist benefits from a huge promotion in his career, after following Mark's vendetta against Zachary.
Whom will Mark target next?

5)Act of Destruction:
When Mark learns of Zachary Wayne's 'new' long-estranged daughter Sage's intent, to oust step-brother Thomas from being Zachary's heir, he employs Charm as his bodyguard.
He does all he can to bring down Zachary's evil empire. The man himself is in hospital, making him an easier target for Mark's intended vengeance. How will the drama end?
Will Mark be able to stop Sage, before Thomas falls victim to her machinations?

A cunning storyline with many twists and turns, makes Audrey Walker's Fropp's Identity an engaging adventure that's not to be missed.
Try this great value-for-money collection, to experience a complete reading experience you're sure to enjoy - then tell all your friends!

Great Characters and Story Line
Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2021
I read and reviewed each book individually, and those reviews are pasted below. I gave books 1-2-3-5 five (5) stars, and book 4 four (4) stars, in that it got a tad convoluted.

Book 1 - I was introduced to Audrey Walker's writing in her Shelby Griffin series, which I enjoyed. So when I saw this new series kick-off, I knew had to read it.
Great first book and introduction to the main character, as well as the supporting ones. Mark's world completely changes when he is 14 years old, and he swears vengeance on the man responsible. The book is a quick read, and the story moves along at a nice pace. I appreciate Audrey's writing style and definitely recommend this book.

Book 2 - Book 2 of the Mark Fropp CIA series and the story keeps getting more involved. Mark is determined to take out the man who is responsible for his mother's death, and is using his CIA contacts and others to get closer to his goal of vengeance.
I definitely like Mark's character, and the supporting characters are rounded out and are integrated even more in this 2nd book. The story moves fast and is a quick read that will keep you turning the pages.
Very enjoyable so far.

Book 3 - Book 3 of the Mark Fropp CIA series, and the relationships between the characters grow with more interaction. Thomas sees his father for who he really is. Anne is rescued. And they are all working together to save family and bring down Zachary. The twists continue. This story is exciting and fast-paced.

Book 4 - The story continues, with a new character, Sage, introduced into the picture. And she definitely stirs the pot! A lot happening with the different relationships, additional characters introduced and the goings on.
This book was a bit more involved, and tougher to follow at times, but still a good read.
Audrey's writing style is enjoyable, and the books in this series are quick reads that keep you going.

Book 5 - Book 5 of the Mark Fropp series, and it was great! I definitely enjoyed the Mark Fropp character, and the others in the story. The author definitely had some work to do to get all the loose ends/characters tied up in this last book, but she got it done, big time. Lots of good and bad folks in the story, with the baddies receiving their comeuppance eventually, just not entirely how you might think, and the good folks developing their relationships even further.
A fun, quick read that you will find enjoyable.

I bought the first four (4) books in the series, and was asked to join Audrey's ARC Team before the 5th book was published, so I received the last book in the series for free, in return for an honest review.

I have reviewed each of the 5 books individually. They are amazing each book keeping you turning pages until the cliff hanger end that leads you to the next. Mark, age 14, his mother and father were at a political event when a shooter comes in to kill Marks father but kills his mother instead. Mark vows to find the killer and seek revenge for the death of his mother. His father provides a body guard for Mark who trains him to be tough, strong and a fighter and he eventually joins the CIA. The 5 books follow Mark and his search for his mother's killer and he has a suspect in mind who is very well connected so when he gets to college he finds his roommate is the son of this suspect and moves to get close to him. We are taken on a major roller-coaster ride with red-herrings you just can't wait to get to the end of each book since we are taken to cliff-hangers. Will Mark be able to satisfy his quest for revenge, will he be surprised if he finds the killer? Will Mark even survive to get his revenge? So much in this set of books you just can't put them down. I received and ARC of this set but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Act of Defiance: A Mark Fropp CIA Thriller Novella (Mark Fropp Series Book 4), my fourth read from author Audrey Walker.

I look forward to reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I really enjoyed this series. There were a few things I felt that could have made it a little better, but overall it waa really good. The storyline was great, the characters were excellent, and it felt very realistic. The world building was also quite good. Where I think it lacked a bit was in showing, not telling. The ending of each book in the series felt kinda rushed, and there was a lot of telling, rather than playing out of the action. With a few more chapters, I think they could have felt more complete and less rushed. But that said, it was fun, fast-paced, and pretty action-packed, despite some of the action being a bit glossed over. A great read.

Audrey Walker's new series featuring Mark Fropp is like the latest Hollywood blockbuster - full of action, thrills and spills.
Washington is a dangerous place and through many twists and turns Mark tries to get revenge on the man who had his mother killed.
Audrey's style is fast and furious and there is never a dull moment. This series reminds me of the early novels of James Patterson and Tom Clancy (in the days when they still wrote the books that bear their names).
I have left more detailed reviews for each title in the series.

Mark Fropp at the beginning of this series is a young man who suffers unimaginable personal tragedies and loss, and seeks vengeance

along the way, careers , friendships, loves and lives happen, with many tangled gains and losses

unsurprisingly, there are lots of surprises along the way, and things are often not straightforward or simple

if you're a fan if suspense and action drama, this is a collection of tangled intrigue and action with surprises throughout to keep you hooked to the end

Five short books that when read together make up a regular sized thriller. I found this fast paced and entertaining but had a few problems with characters getting muddled in my head - too many people with names beginning with D.

A bit more character development and better planning for the overall story arc would make this into a four star read but as it is it's not quite there.

Worth a read if you like a pacy CIA related thriller

Mark Fropp's mother is killed by a bullet meant for his father. He joins the CIA and vows to make the man responsible for his mother's death pay. Zachary Wayne is a very evil and powerful man. The series starts out very strong, but by the 4th novel it loses some steam. But is still a very good series to read.

Ridiculous

This is the worst book I have read in years. Obvious plot, poor writing, and useless verbiage added to sentences. Don’t waste your time reading this author. I should have been paid to read it but stupidly paid for this trash.

I received an ARC for an honest review. I have reviewed each of the books individually and provided a rating of 5 stars for each one.

This boxset is a good way to read the entire series. This begins with Mark at a young age when is mothered is murdered. Mark's father provides a bodyguard who also acts as a friend once this event occurred. It has the bodyguard training Mark who eventually becomes a member of the CIA. The story brings into play his roommate from college as well as the introduction of a woman who becomes his girlfriend. Mark ever since his mother has been killed has planned revenge for the individual responsible. Mark's roommate, Tommy, plays an important role in the story as well as through him, he meets Anne who will become his girlfriend and also has an issue from her past that needs to be addressed. Mark originally planned on killing the person responsible for his mother's death, but decided later on to destroy his businesses.

To discover who murdered Mark's mom, how Tommy and Anne play into it as well as an unknown party working behind the scenes, then be sure to get this boxset. You won't be sorry.
