Fated Star Mates #4

Saved by the Alien Commander

Rate this book
Yesterday, aliens abducted me and I wound up in a breeding center. Today, the spaceship I escaped in crashed into the planet’s wilderness. What next?

A group of musclebound blue aliens with lethal claws and dagger teeth claim to be our rescuers and offer to protect us. I have two choices: go with the rebel warriors to their compound or try to survive alone in the alien wastelands.

Their leader Fin is fierce and domineering with a temper that frightens me. The ex-commander suffered horrific losses at the hands of the planet’s ruling Regime, and now he leads the fight against them. I’ve experienced loss too, and I understand grief, so my heart hurts for this broken alien. I want to help him as he helped me, but Fin won’t let anybody close.

Until now. I’ve discovered Fin and his son have a shocking secret, and he’s forced to bring me into his life to protect them both.

Three other human women living on the compound have strange and overwhelming bonds to these brutal aliens. I don’t believe the ridiculous idea that they’re mates created by the stars, and I’m worried about the consuming effect these men have on my new friends. I’m not concerned that the same will happen to me because I’ve no interest in men—human or alien—since James died.

But as time passes, my attraction to Fin grows. I have to admit that the powerful, sexy alien whose touch explodes desire through my body is more than a friend and confidant. The bond we have could be more than the one forced on us by secrets and circumstances. The problem is, can Fin let go of his past and admit this too?

Saved by the Alien Commander is a full-length, standalone sci-fi alien romance featuring a brooding, seductive alien who’ll do anything to protect his human mate.

If you love sexy aliens, strong heroines and fated mates romance, you’ll love this new series from Kyla Quinn. No cliffhangers or cheating, and a happy ending—I promise!

All books in the Fated Star Mates series are standalones featuring different couples. They can be read individually but the series is best read in order to follow the overall storyline.

Looking back it shows (and I knew that I had) that I have read all the books in this series. For some reason I never wrote a review? I thought I had. I read one of the first books, and it took me forever because the chicks name was Lily, daughters name is Lily, and that always weirds me out. BIG QUESTION: when can we as readers get a little button in our fancy dancy readers to change a characters name? Names hold a lot of power, invoke strong emotions, whether good or bad and it drives me nuts when I start reading a good book only for A, the character to be named after my daughter or B, named after my abusive ex. AM I THE A**HOLE here? My brain is weird. By the way, I feel like the author hates me, she has used both, HOW is this my luck???

BACK TO THE BOOK: I haven't liked all in series but this one was worth sticking around for. Pacing was good, banter was AWESOMELY funny and there was more of a love build in this one that, although insta-I-wanna-f*ck-you-stupid, felt far more organic and in a way you connect on a more heart level. It just had a bit more depth. Overall, I'm still liking the series. A bit hit or miss but its only 4 books in for me.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kyla's latest story is about Fin, a Vrexan Military Commander who is as rough and raw as any alien could be. He borders on bullying brutish, but he holds a secret nobody can ever know about and that makes him appear unapproachable and very standoffish. Enter Donna. She's had grief of her own losing her husband and son, being abducted and ending up in a breeding facility, crash landing on a strange and harsh planet then finding out Fin is her sol. Soul mate! No way is he going to ever admit that and even though he carried the sol mark on his chest, he's denying everything. So how are these two ever going to get together. What is this terrible secret Fin is hiding. What happens when it finally comes out.
All the ingredients for a really good, attention grabbing, riveting and totally addictive story.
Don't miss it.

I was excited to see Donna and Fin’s story because of the family dynamic and the grief, but this is just a fluffy romance series so idk why I thought it’d get that serious. Overall a good story with an interesting romance, but the serious topics that are brought up are quickly washed away. I don’t mind a fluffy story but why bring up the topics of grief and family struggle and all that to then just gloss right over it with a couple of sentences.

The hero has a secret, a secret he would protect with his life, a secret the heroine now knows. He’s obsessed with her, but won’t give in to his emotions. The tension between these two is so intense, it’s almost visible. Each has to come to terms with their past before they can look to their future.

Alpha Rough

Wow! The alien Commander Finn was all kinds of alpha. At first I couldn’t get into him and couldn’t understand why Donna was drawn to him. As the story progressed it became clear that he was more than just a male with a mission and I was glad when he and Donna finally hooked up. I am.poking forward to the next book.

Wow. I was looking forward to this book a lot after seeing the tension between these two in other books. Donna & Fin! They both have reasons to be scared of love. I really liked the way Mev was involved in this story. I thought Fin’a background made this story really different and special. It also helped me understand him a lot better.

Something about this series bugs me

I'm struggling with a characters a little I think, where as I love fated mates and an enemies to lovers trope there's not enough of an organic build up.. it's all resistance until it's not anymore and the lack of development of the characters and this sudden switch really undermines any growth they may have.

Love in many forms

This book highlights the love of parents for their children. The love and grief felt at the passing of spouses. Also, the love that can be found a second time. Nicely written.

Who doesn't want to be saved by a hot alien commander?

Sexy and bloody alpha alien falling for a strong terrain woman. What more could you ask for in an alien romance. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next in the series.

Saved and then saved!

A few twists that made the book interesting. Heart aches that need to be healed, new relationships that need to be understood and old relationships that need to be let go of.

Saved by the alien commander

Didn't live this a as much as the others. I don't think i really liked Fin, he was down right mean to her for "checking on him" and she just shrugged that off! He was rude and she was spineless. Not my favourite of the series.

Great book

Why Amazon insist on 20 words for a review via kindle, I don't know. Especially when I just want to say that I really enjoyed this book.

Sanctuary with the Alien Commander

Fin is traditionalist and not a touchy feely sort of Vascan. Donna is a nice overly tolerant woman and is not as feisty as I would have liked.

Donna is such a Mum friend.
After telling everyone off she fell into the alien mate category too. Typical grumpy/responsible match up.

Fin and Donna's story actually starts some time before, this book, in the beginning when the humans arrived to the alien camp Donna was very catious and afraid of the aliens but with time She Starter to live more content and helping wherever She could. But os all the aliens Comnander Fin was one She doesn't want to mess
with. He was always on hedge, so angry, and then, boom! Sol mate. Oh Boy how he really not like it at all. But Donna is quite persistent and they also Share a similar past of tragedy. I really liked how they connected. A great book.
