I read this book to prepare for my AP Computer Science Principles board exam. This prep book by far met all of my expectations. As a result of reading this book, I feel way more confident to take the exam. By reading this book, I reviewed all of the material that I had learned throughout the school year along with test-taking strategies that help approach the questions on this test in a very efficient way.

This book is written in a very efficient way for the user to study. The first thing in the book is a full-length diagnostics test. This test helped me figure out what were my weaknesses and what I needed to study the most in order to succeed in the board exam. After taking the diagnostic test, there are explanations for the correct answers. This helps the reader understand why the correct answers and correct and why the wrong answers are wrong. In other words, these explanations train the reader to distinguish the correct answers from the wrong answers. After the diagnostic, the book divides the course's content into 5 big ideas and there are two more full-length practice tests at the end. After reading all of the material in the 5 big ideas, taking the 2 practice tests, and reviewing the questions I got wrong on the diagnostic, I felt way more ready for the test compared to before I read this book.

I would recommend this book to anybody who is studying for the AP Computer Science Principles board exam. This book could also be read before taking the AP Computer Science Principles course. In my opinion, it would be a good idea to read this book before taking the course to gain a great insight about the topics studied in the course. This book is written in a way that you do not have to wait after taking the course in order to understand it. I recommend this book to anybody that is self-motivated to achieve a great score on the AP Computer Science Principles board exam.
