Grooming can take a bit of time because a Shih-Poo requires regular bathing and brushing. Fortunately, given its small stature, this won’t be terribly time consuming. The face and ears require additional attention to keep them clean and stain free.
Although the Shih-Poo is a designer breed (meaning they are too new to have a standard), the average lifespan is between 10 and 15 years. If you want an adorable, relatively easy-going dog, the Shih-Poo could be a perfect solution for your home.

My fiance and I just got a Shih-Poo puppy in May. I have a 14 year old one I grew up with, who lives with my grandparents. In being relatively recent, this book provided valuable information and tips. I appreciated learning more about each of the two breeds that make up this dog type along with the general layout of the book (considering to prepping to puppy to adult and end stages). The photographs throughout this book are ADORABLE too;)
If I had to point out one negative while reading, it is the continuous use of the male pronoun (he/him) when referring to your dog. Not all dogs are males...but like I said, not a big deal.
