The book details the methods of specimen collection, how to handle, transport and store them. The proper tests to order and how to properly interpret the values. There is no room for error. There are tests and procedures that go hand in hand. If all steps are not carried out with care, it could be fatal. Examination of the results is how decisions on treatment, medication or even more tests is determined. The right diagnosis could save a life. Specialized or pathology laboratories provide diagnostic services that are essential to health care. You get so much information in school. Sometimes you need a little more to really help understand and comprehend the course. This book is a good guide to help you learn or refresh what you already know.

Between the grammatical errors and information that is simply not correct ... I'm banging my head against a wall.
I understand wanting things to be simple. But you can't call RBCs and WBCs "red platelets" and "white platelets." They aren't platelets. They have completely different functions.
Choose a different book if you want to understand the laboratory side of medicine. Preferably a book written by someone who actually understands laboratory values.
