Dito started writing short stories from junior high school. Since then he has been happy to write whenever he has free time, with some of his writings still not published. In 2017, Dito was invited by his college friend to become a contributor for his campus independent zine, Mati Lampu. And finally, on the 20th of January 2021, he published his first book called Because the End Is Really the Beginning.
It's a unique book, to say the least. I find it a little difficult to review this because it strikes me more like a piece of art rather than a book. And so, I think it should be treated as one.
First thing, the length of the book makes it unsuited to be read in a normal way. The book is rather short, so it should be read at a much slower pace. Reading each sentence, pausing for a moment to think about the feelings behind them. I recommend pairing the book with the audiobook as the author says to get the most out of it.
The story itself takes you on the emotional journey of the main character. It's a story about love, anger, and ultimately regret. Although it's not long enough to make me care about the characters, it's emotional enough to leave an impression.
If you've ever been through the roughs of a relationship, this book is something that you would definitely appreciate.
