The third in the Buttons McGinty trilogy is a great finale to this fun kids adventure book. Buttons is continuing his adventure through space and different dimensions to find and rescue his parents. Just like in the first two books, it is more silly than serious. There are great and surprising plot twists, and the characters from the previous books develop a lot. I'd recommend this book to kids of all ages, and even kids who don't really like reading, because it is really funny and has diagrams and drawings that break up the reading. Thank you Rhys Darby for writing this amazing book.

First of all, getting a copy of this book in the US was one of the greatest shopping challenges of my life. Literally meeting Rhys Darby and his family and directly asking them how I could find a copy of this book was easier than actually getting my hands on this book. It took me months of searching international booksellers to finally get this. And it was all worth it, because 1) I had to know how the story ended and 2) this ended up being my favorite book in this series.

I am absolutely not the target audience for this series, but I enjoyed the heck out of it. I enjoyed the space setting, and I loved that Rhys added hieroglyphics to this installment (especially because it's easier to decode than Morse code). Although this has nothing whatsoever to do with the book itself, this particular entry in the Buttons series had me giggling because it was so clear how much of Rhys's portrayal of Stede Bonnet is actually just Rhys being Rhys.

This was, overall, a delightful and quirky series that had me giggling aloud many times. I hope this isn't really the end of Buttons McGinty - surely there are many other adventures he can have.
