Interesting and allows for practice

This book begins by explaining that while SQL is a little more complicated to learn than some other programming languages, once it is learned you can really do some neat stuff with it. The author explains that some of the more popular uses for SQL involve databases, and also that places like Facebook, Instagram and Pandora use SQL to manage user data. I thought it was a very nice touch, in addition to the sample walk through examples, there are several exercises and even a project to try out at the end of the book. This allows the reader to try their hand at working with SQL in real world circumstances. Overall, I look forward to continuing to work with SQL.

Great information

This was my first book in sql and I now have a better understanding in what sql is and how it differs from other programs like Java. I like how sql is not a procedure, you simply instruct it instead of writing line by line what ti do.
