Really nice mix of theory and application. In practice I imagine some of these techniques would be modified (say simplifying conditions during the pass through), but from my very limited experience, these techniques are at least used in practice. The more mathematical background was good too. Sometimes it got a little tedious and some of the proofs were skipped.
