The book is specifically designed for personal self-study and provides all the necessary information required to pass the Certified Tester Advanced Level exam as defined by the ISTQB. In my opinion, however, it must be used together with the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Syllabus. The book is worth buying mainly for the sample exam questions
It's a certification prep book, but the chapters about testing techniques are really great and it's valuable information for everyone who works with software testing.
I passed the exam by reading this book, but I haven't practices most of the exercises in each chapter, so I plan to get back to those specially for test analysis techniques.
