The Knobs

Rate this book
Allure, like the heat of the night or an enchanted song it calls to us. It gets inside of us and thrives where our demons hide. Desire, a forbidden taboo that you and I never knew before. What are we here for? What is it that we seek from life? Is it money or fame? Is it someone to blame for all the mistakes we’ve made? Is it a companion or just a guiltless rendezvous under the protective shadows of the night? Whatever it might be, I’m sure you can find it here. Nestled high above the hustle and bustle of the city below lies a town, it’s like any other Midwestern town. Elegant antebellum houses neatly line the country highway that traces its way through the heart of the Indiana countryside. But deep inside the heart of this sleepy town lie secrets that could unravel the fragile thread that connects the families that live there. It’s a twisted society intricately woven into suburban life. It’s a love that dare not speak its name, lest it derails the fragile engine that runs the train of family life. No one is immune from the call and there’s no escape from the desires that haunt you in your sleep. Some people say it’s a sinful orgy of infidelity and betrayal, a temptuous drink on a hot summer day. Others say everyone involved is going to hell. But the ones who say that are just the poor unfortunate souls that weren’t lucky enough to be invited to the party. I for one say don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. This is The Knobs. Join Daniel Elijah Sanderfer for this epic tale of love and lies fit for a reality TV show. Bask in this soap operaesque style novella sideshow filled with drama, betrayal, desire, and life.

Secrets and lies rule the Knobs.

Polishing the Knobs as servants or boy toys to keep the men happy and their wives ignored is a way of life. Too much money, power, and sex drive the party lifestyle, but the servants and especially the pool boys know how to live life while loving their employers' sons in the summer sun. Tan lines and privacy are not allowed. Just check the security cameras. Then join in the swim.

So believable

I found myself thinking while I read this book, I feel like I have seen this happen for real. In the town that I live in we have a Nob Hill. There is another street which the locals call Snob Hill. I was great to see that the son was realistic, even though his dad was out of control. Enjoyable read.
