I enjoyed the technology part of this story. Add the Christian element and it's great. John is an interesting character, one who wants to better the world.
Rated G: Clean, Christian Suspense, No profanity, No Sex Scenes.
After his nephew dies on account of an escaped criminal, software engineer John Nickerson is determined to prevent the same thing from happening to anyone else. He comes up with innovative technology to stop prisoners from escaping custody, but starting a business to launch the new product proves to be no simple task in Absolute Command by author Robert Goluba.
I didn't read the book blurb at all before picking up this novella prequel to the Dangerous Redemption series. I'd enjoyed reading this author before, and striking blue hues on the covers of suspense reads are a big draw for me.
However, while I take it the novels in this ChristFic series are indeed suspense, the prequel isn't really. The only pertinent crime is the one in the early backstory, and there's no overall thread of danger or mystery running through this read. It's a rather straightforward story about the career, family, and financial challenges and other technical details of John and his business partners working to get a new venture off the ground.
Altogether, this novella is a pretty interesting one. It doesn't have the quick, sharp, unpredictable dialogue and narration or the volatile action I'd prefer for suspense, but I liked the story itself as a work of contemporary fiction. There are minor editing issues here and there throughout the book, but nothing too major or distracting for me.
The very end of the story does leave a question for what's to come, so I may check out more of the series sometime.
Brilliant, Groundbreaking suspense, action and thrills keeps this book flowing and making ya not want to stop reading it til it is at the final page. I loved it!!!!!!!!
Yes, it ended before I was ready. What a way to encourage another purchase. I’m doing it! Great story and fun to ready and imagine the possibilities and wonder where it was going.
A slow moving story about an inventor and his dream. This story covers a man's ambition to develop a very needed device for a particular community. Although slow moving, does show possibilities of an intriguing adventure.
This was a very interesting read,, frustrating at times to see the key player make mistakes, hoping he would see the wrong and change which he surely did ending very good!
This was a great book to interduce you to the Dangerous Redemption Collection. I read this one after the first book. You should read this prequel first.
