Irene has been forced to struggle in silence at home as her younger sister Riel was born sickly and her parents favor her in all things. However, as Riel is seen kissing her fiancé Boris, Irene can no longer accept this fate. She starts by accepting a party invitation from Jasmine where she hears rumors about Noel. This illegitimate child is struggling to succeed his grandfather as the Grand Duke of Kristen due to familial animosity. When Noel arrives at the same party, Irene gambles her future and proposes a contractual relationship to solve both their problems. Believing it trickery, Noel is hesitant until learning about Irene's household matters. Both try out the plan but meet resistance as Riel claims it is a malicious plot by Irene to stop her from having happiness and the Grand Duke's refusal to acknowledge them. * * * * *----------* * * * *-----------* * * * * This kind of story takes a high suspension of disbelief. The setup scenario, coincidental meetings, and odd character choices are a bit ludicrous. However, once you accept the traumatic backstory premise which brings our couple together, events flow more naturally. I don't know if it is because this one has a manga adaptation in addition to the novels or if it is just similar to another tale but the events feel familiar/predictable. That was distracting as I read but for the most part this is a fine version of this tale. It doesn't bring a radical perspective or flashy gimmick. I'm confident that future reveals have been seeded into the narrative already meaning there is a plan for the future.

I love drama!!!!! I love a main character being able to escape their terrible parents and get revenge. I think the. Relationship repair between the MMC and his grandfather is kinda klunky. But it’s still sweet. But I can’t help but sympathize with the main antagonist. As a person with chronic conditions I, and I’m probably projecting, feel bad for her. She talks about how she didn’t want to be born into this body and her sister was the only one who helped. Her parents give her everything but everything isn’t enough because she’s still sick and she can’t take it. I just. I feel bad. I don’t see her as a villain. I see her as a broken person who, yes maybe is a bad person, but has a reason to be a bad person. I see myself in her. And I see the little neglected chronically ill child I was in the FMC. It’s complicated and I hope the villainess doesn’t get too much hate.
Romantic and sweet with cheesy effect 💃 some scenes didn't make sense. FL ran from fighting and waiting for ML. now other suggest her to change cloths for next fighting 😂 During the fight scene, consoling each other is their first priory. Fighting is secondary. 😂
I missed the side story of their children. Chessy 💃
