Within her veins lies both an antiserum against the plague and a cure for vampirism -- and there are those who would fight and kill both to attain the cure and to destroy it.
Still getting used to her new abilities -- and his new limitations -- Hannah and Alek hatch a plan to infiltrate the vampire-run camp where their human friends have been imprisoned, and to synthesize and distribute as much of the vaccine as they can to level the playing field between the humans and their vampire captors. As they gather allies and assess their enemies, it’s impossible for either of them to be sure which side anyone is on.
Hannah only knows one thing for certain -- that her love for Alek, also altered by her blood, and for her infant brother Noah, means she’ll do whatever it takes to protect them, and to make the world habitable again, a safe place where she and Alek can raise Noah in peace -- if they manage to survive.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, she currently makes her home in the middle of the woods deep in the Ozark mountains with her own dog, a fierce and mighty Chihuahua named Pete, her husband of 13 years, and a gaggle of other four-legged dependents. Jean has a Bachelor of Science in Social Science, Psych/Soc emphasis, which means she’s smart enough to finish college but not smart enough to choose a major that’s actually useful. But it comes in handy for building psychological character profiles and developing post-apocalyptic societies.
Easily spooked by ghost stories as a child, teen Jean faced her fears by forcing herself to watch horror movies and read Stephen King until she fell in love with the genre. As a grown-up (more or less, depending on who you ask), her tastes expanded to include a broader range of speculative fiction and romance, but she keeps coming back to the supernatural and paranormal. She has a strong affection for all things zombie-related, which is a good thing considering she’s currently writing a trilogy in that genre. Watch for Desolation of the Damned, the third book in her Walking Dead/ True Blood mashup Trilogy of the Damned, to come out in the summer of 2020.

Both Alek and Hannah are no longer human or vampire but something in between. They are Now vaccinated against the zombie virus. Now their goal is to go back to the prison and give everyone the chance for the cure. Although they know it won’t be easy changing the world, they are Willing to. One thing they know is how strong their love is for each other. This Unfortunately they are not prepared for everything that could go wrong.
This zombie apocalypse book is the second installment in the Trilogy of the Damned series. The characters are amazing, complex and full of personality that makes them pop off the page. The interaction between the two main characters is heartwarming while all around the is chaos, horror and destruction. The narrative helps to define the characters further giving insight into their feelings and motivations. The action scenes are well described and easy to follow. The storyline is fast paced, action filled, full of surprises, touching moments of humanity, great unexpected twists and suspense. I read the story in one sitting as I was totally engaged in it. I do suggest you read book one first as you will get so much more out of this story. I can hardly wait until the next book comes out.

Action-packed with characters you love to love and love to hate. This is a compelling followup to the first in the series, and I can't wait to read part three.
