The Oracle of Eshe: Serial

Rate this book
The Oracle of Eshe Serial brings ancient Egypt to life. The sensual stories blur the lines between universal laws, long-held beliefs, and societal rules.
Each poignant love story is marred by chaos, strife, and battles between what the heart wants, what the psyche needs, and how the ego perceives the insurmountable odds. Through the characters, the spectrum of humanity is explored and ultimately revealed for its deepest desires, fantastically human flaws, and inexplicably wanton needs.

Series One tells the story of Shukura, a calculating woman who is driven by status. A royal scribe named Amenei marries the love of his life Shukura, born from a noble family. Enjoying the blissful stages of marriage, it is no secret that the newlyweds are at different levels of consciousness. Amenei is a warm and gentle man, whilst Shukura is cunning and status driven. With beliefs steeped in tradition, there is an expectation of Egyptian women to produce children for their husbands in order to prove his fertility, so that he would be favoured well and rise higher in status. Shukura knows only too well what her priorities are; to create a perfect family. As time passes by and with no signs of an heir on the way, Shukura decides to take control of her fate, but will the outcome be in her favour?

Series Two follows King Mosi, a man torn between duty and his heart. Pharaoh Mosi has a difficult decision to make. Should he marry Princess Hasina whose father is Pharaoh Aka, ruler of the north of ancient Egypt? This would be a favourable decision for his people. Although Princess Hasina is beautiful in appearance, but when he is in her company; he feels empty. This is not the case when he is with his twinflame Hemira - a powerful Sybil. He is virile and at his strongest; with his heart filled with a love unlike anything he has experience before, he is unstoppable! Faced with the demands of ancient Egyptian laws, King Mosi must make a choice; to follow the duty of a pharaoh or the calling of his soul?

Series Three unveils Mahra, a young, rebellious girl who is unencumbered by rules. Mahra is now of age to be married. Her mother Shukura; excitedly makes plans to find the best suitor for her daughter, which is the norm for young ladies born into the higher class; they must marry well to secure their status. But Mahra is different, and cares not about societal beliefs. As a child, she was always a freethinker, and now as a young lady, her spirit is as wild as ever, which leads her straight into the arms of a young boy named Het; an artist, born of a servant. Their souls resonate a love that is pure and real, but also forbidden; which must be kept a secret. But with Mahra's abilities, what other secret is she hiding?

These high-energy tales will immerse you into the majestic world of ancient Egypt, where class and status mean more than selfish desires and fated love. Drenched in culture, this serial invites you to visit one of the world’s oldest civilizations and explore all it has to offer – good and bad.

Interesting piece.
This book with a setting of ancient Egypt is part of The Oracle of Eshe serial. Now I love anything Egyptian but I had a hard time getting into this book. That said it is well-written piece and the characters are believable. The author also does a fine job of weaving a spiritual message within the story. I think after the holidays I will try to read it again and see if I am in a better state of mind to read this tale. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

The Oracle of Eshe: Serial delivers a message for humanity through a tale of ancient Egypt. You have to read this book with an open mind as it talks about life in a way that some may see as hyper spirituality. There are truths spoken throughout the story. These truths resonate with where we are today as people and as a society. If we could all find our Soul Tribe, perhaps this world would be a much more peaceful place to live. Being able to see that part of ourselves that allows for true inner peace and love is the struggle that most humans experience. As some of the characters in the book find, what life means for you is yours. Life will always bring a balance of the good and the bad. What we do with it all is what shapes us.

In this book, C.C. Castell creates a world that we can envision with believable characters. While reading the story, I felt that this Egypt was real, so the people in it had to be as well. There are twists in the storyline that kept me reading. I read all night into the wee hours of the morning to finish the book. I had to know where this was all going and was mildly surprised by the ending. Then again, not so much. The action is of the dramatic type and not less fulfilling. The romantic elements work because of how the characters relate to one another. The author defines love and relationships in many ways throughout the story.

The characters in the book are endearing and engaging. I love that King Mosi is a wise, compassionate king who is also a warrior. He takes care of himself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually so that he can be the best ruler and the kind of ruler he feels his people deserve. The Grand Sybil, Hemira, is incredible! I could benefit from having someone like her in my life! Her grand-daughter, Mahra, and great grand-daughter, Eshe, were my favorite characters. I love Mahra for her independence, honesty, and vulnerability. I loved the way that Eshe accepted herself and who she was to humankind. These women exude a strength of mind and purpose that you do not see often portrayed in female characters. What's even better about the book is that those characters that are not good people receive fair judgment and treatment in the end — another lesson for humanity.

I sincerely hope this book reaches the people who need its lessons and truths. I found the story uplifting and renewing. I found much in this book that my heart and mind needed. I hope others do as well.
