He is a former Navy diver who worked in operations in the Middle East, Central America, and in support of the Navy’s EOD community, SEALS, the U.S. Army’s Green Berets, the Secret Service, and the New York Police Department at various times during his time in the service.
The father of seven has written the family oriented literary columns Una Voce and The Uncommon Thread in the Journal of the Mississippi State Medical Association. He has also served the Journal as the chairman of the editorial advisory board. A collection of his columns was published as The Uncommon Thread in 2012. He has also written as screenwriter R.S. Anderson on several feature films, he is the author of the novels Timedonors Wanted and The Hard Times under the pseudonym Russell Scott, and is the editor of the literary journal China Grove.

-Beyond informative
-Breaks it down well
-Mostly interesting. Some parts were dry but that is due to me not the author. I find some parts of networking to be boring.
-Will probably read again
-It a short book. I took my time to absorb the wealth of information.

Helpful info
As a complete tech novice I liked that this books starts at the very beginning. It explains what networking is, different protocals, different routing options, etc. I liked the simple, straightforward way the author explained everything. Like I could very easily get lost in the discussion of routing. But, the author explains the pros and cons of each, so I can pick the one best for my business. I think this book will be helpful.

This book is easy to follow and includes definitions of important terminology to know. The tips are simple to follow—beginners will be able to use them with little trouble.

Nice refresher
Most of this book contains info that most people use on a semi regular basis, but its nice for a reminder of some of the finer details and as a refresher for some of the acronyms

The book contain only words and no illustration at all hence it is very hard to imagine and very hard to understand certain concepts.

If you need assistance understanding computer network this book is for you. It has user friendly instructions and language. I recommend this book.

Network know-how.
This is a very good, in-depth book on computer networking. From LAN to routers the author does his job in explaining the basics without sounding pretentious.
