Our son is now grown up, sought the distance a few years ago and my husband I regularly lock in the garage to his motorcycles to have my peace. As you can see, my humor takes some getting used to. No seriously, we love and respect each other and I am grateful every day anew to know him by my side.
Under the pseudonym Nele Betra I write romantic stories in different genres as well as genre mixes.
At the beginning of 2014 I had a spontaneous idea: I could write a story. So I sat down and just did it. No one could have even guessed what that would mean for me and my future.
In the meantime, I've given up my job and work as a freelance author - a fact that I enjoy to the full after thirty years of working in the private sector. I certainly won't take the freedom that comes with it for granted.
As you can see, I don't belong to the species of author who has been writing down stories since childhood. A hobby turned into a vocation. On days when I'm not sitting at the computer breathing life into my protagonists, I really realize that.
My stories evolve during the writing process, which always makes it exciting for me, because I almost never know beforehand in which direction a plot will develop. Sure, I know the novel's heroes at the beginning, and they end up finding happiness together, but as the saying goes, the journey is the destination. They love each other. They hate each other. Fate - or rather I turn their lives upside down, make them tumble over imaginary precipices to catch them with a happy ending.
For me, there is nothing better than to emotionally abduct my readers and immerse them in the world of my protagonists. Nevertheless, I try to address important and sometimes serious issues and make them thought-provoking. But not without conveying a certain lightness. In my eyes, life is also not always sky-high or sad to death. Everything is in balance. Drama, love, lust, humor, suspense are the ingredients with which I spice my novels. I am only satisfied when the book is closed at the end with a relieved sigh and people are happy that everything turned out well in the end; I was able to give a few hours of joy.

Der Amerikaner Ryan reißt -halb geschäftlich und halb privat- mit 2 Freunden nach Schottland. Bereits bei den Reisevorbereitungen lernt er den Skipper Scotty – zunächst nur virtuell und am Telefon- kennen. Die beiden unterschiedlichen Männer fühlen sich zueinander hingezogen, doch die sich überschlagenden Ereignisse um den Hauptgrund von Ryans Reise lassen keinen Raum für ein unbeschwertes Näherkommen.
Ich habe einen Moment gebraucht, bis ich in der Geschichte angekommen und eine Verbindung zu den Protagonisten aufgebaut hatte. Erstmal drin habe ich dieses spannende und romantische, sehr angenehm erzählte Abenteuer sehr genossen.
Es fällt leicht, Ryan und Scotty ins Herz zu schließen und mit ihnen zu leiden, wenn das Schicksal scheinbar keinen gemeinsamen Weg für Sie vorgesehen hat.
Das Verhalten von Andrew und Parker, Ryans Freunden, wirft viele Fragen auf.
Ich habe „Finding Nessie“ mit Freude gelesen, mich gut unterhalten gefühlt und empfehle die Geschichte sehr gerne weiter!
Da auch diese beiden, trotz einiger fragwürdiger Entscheidungen in meinen Augen eindeutig auch Sympathieträger sind werde ich sofort im Anschluss „Finding back“, den zweiten Teil dieser Dilogie, lesen.

Nele Betra hat sich mit dem Cover wieder selber übertroffen. Es ist wunderschön und sehr romantisch.
Aber nicht nur mit dem Cover, sondern auch mit der Handlung hat sie sich wieder einmal übertroffen. Die Geschichte hat mich sehr berührt. Ich fand Scotty und Ryan sofort mega sympathisch und man hat es förmlich zwischen den beiden knistern spüren. Aber leider läuft der Aufenthalt von Ryan in Scotland ganz anders als er es sich gedacht hat. Was genau passiert, das verrate ich nicht. Ich kann nur sagen, dass es sehr spannungsgeladen ist.
Ich mag den flüssigen und bewegenden Schreibstil der Autorin. Auch diesmal hat sie mich wieder in ihren Bann gezogen. Sie hat uns in die wunderschönen Highlands mitgenommen und uns die Gegend ausführlich und bildhaft beschrieben. Man kommt so richtig ins träumen.
Aber es ist natürlich nicht nur alles schön und harmonisch. Vor allem Ryan hat einiges zu verkraften und zu entscheiden. Kann Liebe räumliche Distanz überwinden?
Fazit:
Sehr romantische, aber auch spannende und dramatische Gayromance, die auch mit sinnlicher Erotik nicht geizt. Absolute Leseempfehlung von mir!

wieder einmal eine tolle Geschichte von Nele B. plus ein fantastisch aussehendes Cover,
super sympathisch beschriebene Protas, inklusive Hund Duke,
Story beinhaltet sehr viel Spannung, etwas Drama, viel Liebe, etwas Erotik, sehr viel Humor, alles in allem ein klasse Schreibstil,
auch sehr gut haben mir die wunderschoenen Beschreibungen der Gegend gefallen, ausführlich und bildhaft beschrieben,
von mir eine eindeutige Kauf- und Leseempfehlung,
freue mich riesig auf die Fortsetzung

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
