Tatting Patterns and Designs

Rate this book
Here is a distinctive gallery of over 85 beautiful and useful tatted items — mats, bookmarks, edgings, collars, crowns, medallions, and more — all ideal for resting and developing the skills of both intermediate and advanced tatters.
Created and compiled by two well-known crafts and needlework experts, teachers, and editors, these delicate designs include the dainty Annette and charming Margareta — lovely edgings that will add a touch of elegance to fine linens, handkerchiefs, and personal apparel — and exquisite doilies such as Mignonette and Peony, perfect for use as centerpieces, vanity sets, and table settings.
Each project is clearly photographed and detailed instructions specify what thread to use, the size of the design and number of shuttles needed, tatting stitches involved, and proper sequence for each. Also included are a brief history of this great traditional craft and instructions on its principal techniques.

Favorite tatting book

This is the third variant of this book I've bought -- I wore out the first paper one, and I have a second paper one. It is more convenient to carry patterns in my phone or computer when going out though, so an ebook version is perfect. This is the book I used to teach myself hot to tat, the illustrations and instructions for the basic steps are clear and precise.

And it has crowns, and who doesn't want tiny lace crowns?

Lovely designs with easy to follow instructions. Not diagramed, but written in the tatting shorthand of numbers and dashes. Doiliss, snowflakes, cross bookmarks, and bridal crowns. One of my favorite tatting books. Mine is falling apart from much use.

This is one of the BEST tatting book out there!! I have worn my copy out so badly that I may have to finally buckle down and replace it. Easily written for beginners, THIS is the book you should buy for someone wanting to learn patterns after they have mastered the stitch.

Best beginner book. Wish it had been my first!

This has great patterns and great pictures and descriptions for the learner. It is the best beginner book for learning on your own. Absolute must for a beginner.

Gorgeous designs but do beware - a lot of tatters have had trouble with them.
