Divorce was never really in Claira Williams’s life plan, but when your husband knocked up his sister-in-law, what is a girl to do? Relocating from Houston to a small town in West Virginia, Claira is ready for a new adventure. Inheriting her Aunt Emma Jean’s cabin in the mountains seemed to be the perfect solution. Living through the headaches of construction and catching the eye of the local sheriff takes a backseat when Claira’s older brother, Jim, decides he is entitled to the property. Jim has always gotten what he wanted. One way or another. Claira soon realizes she is in trouble. With the help of her new friends from town and her spitfire mother, Virginia, Claira fights to save her new home. The battle that follows takes a drastic turn when old family secrets get mixed in with the trouble that is brewing. Will she get to keep her new home? Can she keep her mother safe from her brother? How far will her brother go this time to get what he wants?

Fantastic
Wow where do I begin??? I absolutely loved this book. A couple of surprises I totally didn't expect. I enjoyed it so much I hope there is at least another book or too with these characters.

Excellent read! Great characterization and fascinating dialog! The story follows a bright and bubbly protagonist that can be easily identified with and liked. Be ready though! The story takes a dark twist when you’re not expecting it and leads into an even more unexpected and thrilling climax! Give this novel a try and you won’t be disappointed!

This was one of those warm feel-good reads that is perfect for a lazy afternoon
Claira is done with big city life and no good wondering men! After her divorce is finalized she decides to resettle - the quiet life - lots of tall trees and fresh air - Yeah right - when has her life ever gone the easy route?
I do wish this had been a bit longer - Our main couple does suffer from instant love but it seems to work in this story quite well -
The story is fun and easy to follow - lots of laughter and romance touched with a bit of suspense -
This is not a complicated story line - it is meant to be light and fun and to transport the reader for a short time - which it definitely does.
I do have all kinds of questions for mom though 🤔
