The smell of death penetrates the air . . .
A mysterious string of events is enacted across the globe. In
Turin, Italy, young alchemist Mihali stumbles upon the bodies
of six mediums assassinated while performing a séance. Beside them lie the bodies of their killers.

A stranger followed by shadows . . .
In New Jersey, Jude is biking home from a baseball game
when she is thrust into a world that should not exist. A ghostly
gray haired man appears before her, calls her Scion of Fire and
insists she must die or she will destroy the world.

A child in chains . . .
Frail, alone in a dark prison, he speaks in Jude’s mind, calling
her ‘sister’, pleading for her help. He beckons her to come to
him. Maybe he is the only one with all the answers, or maybe
he is not a child at all.

I don’t care who the child is. I’m his only hope.
Together with a handful of allies, and armed with the will to
live, Jude embarks on a dangerous quest that takes her from
Arizona to Europe, ever with dark enemies at her heels.
If she fails, she will die.
If she succeeds, the world may come to an end.

I was initially drawn to Firepath by the cover art, which I love, but, after reading the first few pages out of curiosity, I was hooked. The first page starts the novel off at a thousand miles an hour and somehow the writer maintains this throughout. It’s exciting and full of twists. Not the type of book where you can guess what’s happening next.

Firepath turned out to be an amazing fantasy journey, unlike any I’ve read before. Normally when I read something like this I’ll make comparisons. I’ll say it’s like X but with more of Y. With this I’m not sure what I could compare it to because it’s so unique.

Jude is a wonderful character. She’s strong enough that she’s interesting but also vulnerable enough that I cared about her and wanted to see what would happen. Sometimes novels like this have character tropes that we’ve seen a hundred times, but that didn’t happen here, not with June and not with the others.

There was a big surprise too in the inclusion of illustrations. I didn’t expect it but I’m not complaining. All in all, for the price I paid, this is a bargain and I’m looking forward to reading Part 2.

Let me start by saying I am an eclectic reader but have not been a fan of Fantasy...until now.
Sidney Nesti’s Firepath is the first in The Rose Prophecy series. The main character is sixteen-year-old Jude who discovers she was predestined to save a child she sees only in her dreams. But he pleads for Jude’s help.
The Problem is she doesn’t know who he is, where he is, why she was chosen or how she is to help him and most of all, she doesn’t know if he really exists. Despite all this, Jude won’t give up until she finds out the truth.
The crisp, fast-paced plot drew me in and kept me turning the pages. There is a full cast of well written three-dimensional characters and the author makes the reader care about them.
Overall, Firepath is exciting, entertaining, and completely transporting to another world. It is a well written well researched, intriguing beginning to a new series, and I’ll be waiting for book number two!

You have to love fantasy that hooks you at first page. Firepath does just that and does not disappoint all the way through. Firepath is filled with fantasy, suspense, and supernatural with tons of travel.

In Firepath gruesome murders of mediums is discovered in Turin, Italy. Back in New Jersey, we meet 16-year-old Jude a budding athlete on her way home from a practice game only to finds out she might be better off dead. Then the dreams start of a child who calls her sister and pleads to be saved. Filled with emotions for this child Jude chooses to set out to find him. What will she find though? A real child? Or something else?
A Fantastical debut for Nesti! Perfect for all ages. It is a book you are going to want to read again and again!

Firepath was a great read and a really good contemporary fantasy, but it's not just that. Sidney Nesti's first book is suspenseful and character driven because the leading character, Jude, is strong but also relatable. Which, let me say is interesting because I'm a 20-something year old man. So, you wouldn't think relatable to me or anyone who's not "younger" and a girl or someone who loves a good fantasy, but it was! Which is an awesome accomplishment for any author - so that's a kudos to the author. I love the travel and the companionship of the travel, coupled with the suspense. Those are what kept me driven to speed through this book!

definitely a good choice

The novel Firepath is a supernatural fantasy story from Sidney Nesti. I have found the chapter when Jude was biking home quite thrilling and mysterious: "What dangers lurk around, ready to jump out?" The novel has unique drawings included, these drawings are well placed into this paranormal story and assists the reader to immerse this fantasy world. It was also interesting to discover the broad-spectrum of vocabulary of the author that makes this fiction a literature while the writing style is natural and easy to follow. So, if you like ya fantasy theme with mystic adventure then the book Firepath is definitely a good choice.

Jude is a Brooklyn irish-italian girl who loves softball, and she is the scion of fire. She is also fated to rescue the child of the sun she sees in her dreams. The menacing grey man appears. Wolves! Chimeras! And Jude must run to survive and seek out the child and solve the mystery.

This story is about family too. family that is complicated, fractured, family is everything...
This story drew me in. Fast.

Sidney Nesti has skillfully synthesized Celtic faerietale, Catholic and Native American mysticism, to create an action packed, exciting adventure and alluring mystery. An incredible book.
I can't wait to read the next two books.

“If she succeeds, the world may come to an end.” It is enough to encourage you to follow the story with hope and anxiousness. The idea is brilliant and at the end of the book, you are not disappointed. The Author of this book has developed an adventure that gets better with each page; the character development in this story goes beyond what is considered just a good story. It leads you to a great adventure. I loved Jude and her strong character and I loved the imagery and how the author describes the places. A truly epic fantasy adventure.

Firepath is a fascinating fantasy adventure. The plot is incredibly creative, but I'd have to say the characters are what really make this story. Jude is a relate-able and intriguing protagonist that makes me root for him. When he sees the child, he desperately wants to save it and do what's right, even though he does not know where it is. Although Jude is my favorite, there is a full cast of well written, three-dimensional characters that do not disappoint. Even though I'm not strictly a fantasy buff, I really enjoyed this read. Can't wait for book 2!

The first of more to come I hope. The book kept me engaged from start to finish. The pacing, the plot, and the characters are apt, and intriguing. With the details and the illustrations (a pleasant surprise) , I could easily create visions of the scene unfolding in the book as the plot progresses. Mystical, fantasmical, and human elements are weaved in together very well. The book is reminiscent of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series and I enjoyed reading it throughly. Looking forward to Book 2.

This has been the first fantasy book I’ve read, and oh my, it’s been an eye opener! The writer nails it with the characters who are relatable, especially Jude my favorite. Firepath is a throughly entertaining book from start to finish. I recommend it to other fantasy newbies, you won’t be disappointed!

This book far exceeded my expectations. I was initially drawn in by the beautiful cover, but the story took me away. A mix of history, fantasy, and character narratives kept me wanting to get to the next chapter. Just like the protagonist, you are immediately thrust from the mundane everyday life she has experienced up until she is confronted by the Gray Man and sent into an adventure that not even she believes is real. There is the mix of real life problems and dilemmas that make it more than just the usual hidden world of magic and destiny story. I definitely recommend giving this a read. Despite a few technical errors in the book, I wouldn't have guessed it is her first novel.
