Loved this book so much I had most of the book read in 1 night. Reading Sophia and Trevor's story was very interesting. It was interesting, intriguing, mysterious, romantic, action packed, a page turner and so much more. This book has teachable moments too.
I highly recommend this book and if I could I'd give the book more than 5 stars. This is Book 1 in the series. Will read again and have.

In Complex by Rose Fresquez. Sofia returns home after 10 years to mourn the loss of her grandmother and also desperately wants to reconnect with her family. On her first day home a handsome stranger shows up on her family's doorstep, a detective in town, who believes her family are responsible for his mother's disappearance. Sparks fly. Is her family guilty or not? A great book that I received this through bookfunnel. This book is available on Amazon.

For some time now I have been staying away from reading romantic tales. Trust me, it isn't on the grounds that I don't like this sort of stories. It's simply that a few creators make their romantic tales so convoluted that one can easily get tired and uninterested to continue with their book. I am really happy and satisfied to have read this book. I truly valued the way that the start of the story did not get me exhausted to the point where I needed to abandon the book. The story was exceptionally reviving and the fill of the Christian virtues made it additionally fascinating for me. I likewise like the way that the creator did not attempt to make the story pointlessly long.

This story is around two individuals who fell for each other and gave love an opportunity in spite of the convoluted situation that encompasses them. The wise family, the rich and powerful individuals were not truly likeable individuals but rather I sort of loved them for the diverse qualities they exhibit.

On the off chance that I had the open door I might want to change a small piece of this story. Rose Fresquez, I love your book but I was really heartbroken when things took another turn in the scene below! Towards the END of this book, where Trevor took the punch for his girlfriend's sibling! I returned to peruse that part again and again with an expectation that the occasion will address itself and play out the way I wanted. I felt like it was not fair to have denied the rightful owner of the punch his package. LOL

This story is smartly composed an I figure youthful readers from 14 and even older readers will enjoy this story.

A wonderful story!! I love this author's style of writing!!
I enjoyed this so very much!! The reason I did was I could feel Trevor's and Sophia's feelings. I'm sure that most of us has been there at one time or another
I also liked how families stick together in a crises. ( Although in my family that's not true ). What is it they say? Blood is thicker than water?
In my book true love can overcome any obsticale that may come your way. Especially with Jesus at the wheel.
I liked what Trevor said "that he'd rather turn to God whenever he started feeling uncomfortable or he wanted to talk to God."
Shoot I talk to Him all the time. People think I'm talking to myself but most times I'm not. I'm telling Jesus about my day even though He already knows.

People, money, and things doesn't matter. What matters is what's in the heart.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.. No compensations were received and all opinions are my own.
I strongly recommend this book

Ok, wow, I love this author! After reading one of her books ( Something Right ) I immediately needed another and this one was just as good! I had high expectations for it and this story definitely lived up to them! I think I’ve found a new favorite author! I seriously can’t get enough of her books! It’s all I’ve read these last few days. I love a good romance story and this author knows how to write them. This book was so good and I enjoyed every page. So glad I found this author! I will definitely be checking out her author books. The two I’ve read have been amazing.

I loved this story!! Trevor Freeman is a man with a mission: find out what really happened to his missing mother. Sofia Wise is returning to her hometown for her grandmother's funeral. The only person in her family she had a good relationship with. Can she reconcile with her father? Can she get along with her shallow mother? What about her arrogant brother? Then, she meets Trevor, and finds out how he feels about her family. Can they get past all of that to find happiness together? This is such a good read, and Rose shows how God can work through many things to bring us where we need to be!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

Complex is an interracial romance story and it's the first book in the Outsiders of Eron Series.Sofia Wise has just come back to Eron. Trevor Freeman a hardworking detective for the town of Eron is trying to find answers to his Mother's disappearance and the Wise's might be the last one to have seen her. They hit it off but will things keep them apart? I enjoyed reading their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In a small town, seemingly owned by one very wealthy family, Wise family, seems to have it all: money, influence -- and the attitude to go with it.

Detective Trevor Freeman has lived in this small town all of his life. His goal in becoming a detective is to investigate his mother's disappearance several years before. The thing is, he is sure that the Wise family had something to do with it. Didn't it mean something that his mother had disappeared when she was working at the Wise house?

Sofia Wise is the opposite of her family in every way. Money isn't the end-all. Social status doesn't define you. When Sofia comes home for a visit, sparks fly when she meets the Detective. Sure, there's attraction, but Trevor's accusation of her family hasn't made him welcome in her father's house.

Sparks fly as Sofia and Trevor work through their own challenges of class and wealth. With the accusation of foul play from Trevor, can they even have a relationship?

A delightful tale of a complicated relationship in a small town. Is there any hope for a relationship between a police detective and the daughter of the rich family in town? But wait money is not the only barrier coming between Sophie and Trevor. There are years of animosity between Trevor and Sophies family. So why does he feel attracted to her. Will she even give him the time of day? Get a copy and find out for yourself.

I love how faith is seamlessly woven into the story and we get to see characters both growing in their faith and those that are still searching. There is even a simple presentation of the gospel message. Very well done.

Many of us, including Trevor and Sofia, have much to deal with when we meet someone who captures our heart - income disparity, long-distance relationship, family issues, grief, and inter-racial relationship issues. Will love conquer it all? Pick up this book; you won't be disappointed.

This is a beautiful love story that is created between two people that should probably never have fallen for each other. They have overcome family rivalries, status and society differences and challenges in faith. Complex is set in a little town of Eron where nothing in the community can remain a secret, but also where everyone is part of the bigger community family. If you enjoy blooming romance stories you will enjoy this one. Thank you Rose Fresquez.

I have found a new favorite contemporary author! I read two books by this author over the weekend and I enjoyed them so much! It definitely makes me want to find more time for reading. It’s so fun and peaceful when you’ve got a good story like this one. Complex is such a good contemporary story. So much action and things going on. I loved every bit of it! I will definitely be checking out the authors other books. The two I’ve read were amazing!

Set in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, the town of Eron is a picturesque place to find love and confront the complexity of family relationships. A cute, fast paced story that has you rooting for the main characters to set aside their differences and realize what the treasures that are right in front of them. A nice Christian book that inspires hope for true love. This is a great read.

Elements of star crossed lovers/Romeo & Juliet in the story. Love and romance between 2 people from different stations in life. Will Sofia and Trevor be able to move beyond their stations in life and issues between their families to be able to follow their love to its end?

A sweet story

Short and sweet. This is more romance than suspense. I would have l liked this book to have been 3 as there is so much information in the back story that could have been told. I did enjoy the read and I look forward to other books by this author.

So I'm reading this series out of order but I'm still enjoying them :) I loved Complex and the story of Sofia Wise and Trevor Freeman. Goodness did these two had issues of their past to work through! But what a beautiful redemption story and examples of God's grace and love did they ended up proving to be 😊 While I always enjoy the romance aspect of a book (and this one was a sweet one), this time what truly spoke to me was the message of God's mercy and forgiveness, and how we have to bestow it upon others since we've already been forgiven so much! Truly, thank you to the author for penning such a beautiful story. 💖

As for the narrator, she was fantastic (just as she was in Choices) with both male and female voices 🙌 ; of course, the nuances and tones were just on point and she did a great job bringing the whole cast of characters (even the ones with accents, such as Enrique, I think) to life. The only thing I think could be better was the last chapter, since it seemed there were fragments of a couple of sentences that were repeated, but besides that, it was pretty perfect to me ;)

Overall, a fantastic audiobook with a truly wonderful story that I'd recommend to all fans of the author or simply of the Christian Fiction genre. ~ 5 stars

An enthralling tale of mystery, family dynamics, and unexpected romance. 'Complex' masterfully weaves together the suspense of a missing person case with the emotional journey of Sofia Wise as she returns to her hometown. The author skillfully keeps readers on the edge of their seats, balancing the intricate plot twists with heartwarming moments of reconnection. The chemistry between Sofia and the enigmatic stranger adds an electrifying layer to the story, as they navigate suspicions and secrets. With vivid descriptions and well-crafted characters, this book is a must-read for anyone seeking a captivating blend of intrigue and love. The Christian content is also brilliantly written and is woven into the story in such a way as to make it feel as though there would be something missing if it wasn’t there

Trevor and Sofia; I loved both characters for their determination not to give up on their relationship despite many challenges. Trevor a hard working detective; with the burden of searching for his Mom who disappeared. Trevor was very active and loved by the entire community. Sofia returning home to a small town she ran away from years earlier. Sofia's family was not a fan of Trevor's. Trevor suspected Sofia's family knew what happened to his mother and were hiding the truth.

In spite of these and other challenges Trevor and Sofia fell in love; against all odds. This is a story that may have been told before, but not the way Rose told it. Loved it, originality from beginning to end.

I mostly enjoyed this story. While I understand that there are families that think they are above the law and rule the small communities where they live, I found it to be just a little much in this story. It was still an enjoyable read and it leads into the next book quite nicely which I did enjoy more than this. I will say about half way thru the story I had figured out the ending of it.

The narrator did a good job with this story.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, however, I am voluntarily leaving this review.

This book was so good. These were characters weren't easy and I love that, they had dept. Trevor is tortured and juat wants to move on with his life. Sofia was the perfect person for that, she was genuine, herself and didn't let anyone make decisions for her, I loved that. They worked in a way that was beautiful. I don't like Brent, at all, so I'm very curious to read his book, more so knowing he will end up with Trevor's sister

Money Is Overrated

Trevor always had to know the why of things, so when his mother disappeared he had to know why. His obsession with the family she worked for thinking they caused her disappearance never faltered until a good friend as a private detective found the truth about her and it had nothing to do with the Weiss family. Sofia was the exact opposite of her family, she was loving, caring, kind, courteous. It was nice to see the transition of both characters.

AMAZING READ!

Oh wow! LOVED THIS BOOK! I am so excited to read your book! GREAT characters, love the story. Loved that the detective fell for someone "he shouldn't have fallen for" 😁. I am already reading another book of yours and I am proudly becoming a follower. And above all, it's a Christian novel, loved that the most! Thumbs up Rose!

Sofia’s complex love story

Sofia’s family did not like Trevor because of his investigation. Trevor had to learn most importantly to give His worries into God’s hands. Not long after he did it, he got the answer he wanted. What a powerful lesson for us! Sofia? Oh, she got some really awesome and life-changing things! :) very well done!

This book offers an amazing lesson about forgiving people and to let God take over. I can absolutely relate to the main character and his issues, basically wanting to do God’s job in His place. Nevertheless, our protagonist shows strength of character that I did not expect. It is never easy to let go, completely surrender, and asking for forgiveness.

Sofia and Trevor have a connection that isn't really great and they a few differences. Will they let these things keep them apart? Loved his dad and sister. Her family well UGH. There is a mystery Trevor is trying to solve but it might cause a rift between him ad Sofia. This book really showed how forgiveness is so hard but so freeing.
