A friend of mine who is an Excel consultant said, "The answer is a pivot table; now what is the question?" I was acquainted with the primitive capability of pivot tables in early versions of Excel, but I did not realize how powerful they have become. I am now finding many uses for them. Jelen has written an excellent learning tool and resource book. He has most of the examples in the book available in completed Excel workbooks that can be downloaded from a web site for free. The reader can concentrate on learning the principles without having to spend a lot of time entering data. If you analyze data and have to present it in table of chart form, you owe it to yourself to learn the power of pivot tables. Jelen's book is a great way to start. If you know a bit about pivot tables and want to learn more, Jelen's book can help there too.

Great introductory book for pivot tables/charts for beginners. Also, some gems for intermediate users.

The book was put together very well and was easy to read.

My only disappointment was that it wasn't as advanced as I was hoping.

Pivot tables are Excel's most powerful feature. This book shows you how to create a pivot table to summarize 50,000 rows of Excel data.
