Yoga provides all the facilities and opportunities for improving esoteric awareness, and to achieve satisfaction with worldly enjoyment. While we are engaged in cultivating this esoteric awareness, we should not relegate the well being of the physical body to a secondary place. Vethathiri Maharishi designed the system of simplified physical exercises, after a study of many of the then prevailing systems and on the basis of his own medical experiences and through much practice. The exercises can be performed without the strain of taking too much time. The greatness of Simplified Physical Exercises lies in that all the organs in our body, from the head to the toes, are stimulated while performing the exercises. The Endocrine glands are activated and mental health is improved. Immunity increases and diseases are cured or prevented from becoming chronic. On account of the simple nature of the exercises, it can be practiced by anyone, irrespective of gender, between the ages of 8 and 80. This imparts all the benefits of doing about 20 classical Asana devoid of the strains in them.
