I thought I knew where my life was going. Which goes to show that we don’t know anything. I had the perfect life. A husband who loved me, getting the promotion as the head of our cardiopulmonary department, and a life plan that gave me purpose. Then with one fail swoop, everything was destroyed. Finding your sister in bed with the love of your life puts things in a different perspective. Discovering that she’s stealing your dream makes you question every thought you’ve ever had.
I lost everything except my medical career. The one place where my life wasn’t falling apart around me. Until it was. Dr. Eric James was our head of ER physician, and maybe if I hadn’t had a life plan I’d never have noticed him in the way a woman discovers a man. Maybe I’d never known what passion was before him. I came to him in a moment of weakness, and he mended a part of me I thought was broken forever. Life has a way of screwing up even the best things that have ever happened to you.
Trauma. When reality crashes into a fantasy, sometimes it’s hard to catch your breath. I knew the right thing to do but giving up when a person’s life was in my hands went against everything I was taught. Love doesn’t follow the right rules. Unlike a medical emergency, there is no plan for survival. What I needed was a prescription for love that wouldn’t destroy the tiny part left of me still fighting to live.

This was a good love story. I really enjoyed the characters. The storyline was not what I expected but that was part of the charm of it for me. If you like good romance books with a little unexpectedness to it then this is the book for you! Enjoy!

Alexa is reeling from a double betrayal that has her taking chances, an opportunity, that she was more than ready for. Eric was her colleague but their friendship was going to be more if Alexa had any say in it…
A hospital was a great place for that to happen and Tampa Bay is the backdrop to Alexa and Eric’s romance. There was no slow buildup. Instead they had a no holds barred, all in journey of passion, hopes and dreams. Things happened quickly and when they didn’t share the same page, the curveballs thrown their way threatened their fragile relationship.
The drama in this story ping ponged me back in forth like a tennis ball at Wimbledon! The many twists and turns – and there were lots of them – made their journey entertaining but also choppy and uneven at times. I wanted to connect with the characters more even as I weathered each emotional storm with them.
My second read by this author and I will definitely seek her out again. There are more stories brewing at Tampa Bay!
My first Michelle Hughes book and I was swept in and caught up in the story. Alexa is a cardiopulmonary manager that catches her husband in bed with her sister. Eric, an emergency room doctor and one of the catches of the staff, makes a move on her and the instant heat is rising. But is this a rebound? There are a few things in this book that kept my interest piqued. The cheating husband and story with Beth, Alexa's sister was one I wanted to hear more of, and the results were not only surprising, but resulted in sadness and fear. The newly formed relationship with Eric was also on the radar, though at times I couldn't understand where they were going. There are a few twists and turns that made me question decisions being made, but that is what kept the book interesting! With some steamy passion and a surprise to make you feel warm and good.
Melissa Stiletto does a wonderful job with the narration. This book is complicated with the different emotions mixed into it and she nails each character and each emotion. She makes the story flow and kept the interest level high.
3 and 1/2 stars Sweet story about Alexa who's a cardiopulmonary manger at a hospital and Eric a ER physician. She she catches her husband Matthew in bed with her sister Beth. Alexa realizes that she does not really know her husband and that there is no passion between them. She starts a relationship with Eric but still feels married and adulterous. For me the heroine who has an IQ close to a genius is a little puerile and sometimes reacts silly to situations where a discussion would arrange everything. She befriends another doctor Logan, Eric's enemy, lover the deceased wife of Eric .... which obviously causes tension between Eric and Alexa. I had the impression to see Grey anatomy ...
I will have given 4 stars if the h was a little less irritating (this is my personal impression).
Rx for Love by Michelle Hughes was refreshing, I don’t hear many hospital Romance’s, so when this one came across the list I thought go for it. Our main character Alexa, a head nurse at a hospital finds her personal life and her job colliding and the plot has you. This story has all the essentials which includes an ex that doesn’t seem to get the meaning of you screwed up, thus the adultery, plus betrayal, family drama, trauma, curveballs, workplace politics, sexy love scenes and of course every romance goal an HEA with hunky Doctor Eric James and the family of her dreams. Great listen for a boring day. With Melissa Stiletto narrating it was made all the more enjoyable. Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession.
This wasnt a bad story. I think it could have been better with a bit stronger heroine. I found her weak. I had hard time liking her. She couldnt stand in her feet without being negative. The plot had a few holes. sometimes was it really necessary to bring back things that were resolved. other times,it skipped over important things. ex, mom faints, then does chest compressions. no where did it say she wasnt breathing. nothing about divorce but getting remarried.
the narrator was great. she kept me listening to the story.
overall I would like to seen this story better edited, proofread.
but dont let my thoughts deter you from giving this a listen.
Awesome! This author is new to me. I had the audio version of this one. This is Alexa and Dr. Eric's story. Alexa is a cardiopulmonary manger at a Tampa Bay Hospital. Eric is one of the hot Doc's at the hospital too. Alexa life as she knows it came crashing down when she catches her husband in bed with her sister. Dr.Eric is one sexy doctor, who wants Alexa. This story is one of betrayal, steamy sex, hate, loss, grief, heartbreak, guilt, forgiveness, friendship, and love. I honestly couldn’t put this book down once I started. I'm so ready fro the next one in this series. Keep up the awesome work. I highly recommend reading this one.
Hospital Romance with a doctor and a nurse that was a little sweet, a little spicy and a little confusing. While I loved the basic plotline of the story, the indecisive Alexa going back and forth and always running off rather than discussing things with Eric really got on my nerves. There was a lot happening between her soon to be ex Matthew, her sister Beth and the addition of another doctor, Logan, whom used to be friends with Eric and his late wife. I will be reading more from this author.
I really enjoyed this story. This was a first fro me by Michelle Hughes. I love that the book is set in Tampa so I am a bit biased. I also love that the book isn't your typical Doctor/Hospital romance. Yes they both work in the hospital and there are plenty of scenes (if not the majority of scenes) that take place in the hospital itself but its not a Gray's Anatomy reenactment or something like that.
Audio by Melissa Stiletto was very well done. I was really by the performance.
I received this audiobook free as an Audiobook Obsession Reviewer for an honest review. I really enjoyed this Tampa Bay Hospital story. Seeing your husband in bed with your sister is enough to derail any one. Is Eric a rebound for Alexa, or is it real. The turmoil of their relationship tests their strength. This story has just the right amount of "steamyness" but not too much. The author did a great job with developing the characters. There are happy parts and sad parts, enough to keep your attention. The narrator did a great job with the characters and the story.
Well written story with a solid plot and characters - throw in a few twists and turns and things are interesting. it is admittedly to my favorite from Ms. Hughes. I really didn't connect with the characters, a to of poor decisions just leave me shaking my head and wondering...Dr. Eric isn't my favorite as far as heroes go and that was probably my biggest thing is I just didn't like him much at times
Thinking that something will happen and so it did, everything happens in one book. It was a quick listen. Was the first time listening to a book by this author it was good.
Was my first time listening to this narrator she did well there was a few minor issues with the production but it wasn’t too distracting. I definitely think with a few more books under her belt she will be awesome. She really gave the characters their own voices.
This was my first Michelle Hughes's book. This is the first book in the Tampa Bay Hospital. Alexa's story is filled with twists and turns, and a lot of drama. Alexa is lucky to have Eric by her side. He is a great character, supportive and protective. I love the ending. Melissa Stiletto did a great job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession
There are definitely a couple twists in this book that you may or may not see coming but it is definitely worth a listen. Both main characters get a second chance at love when they both felt that their chance was over. I loved listening to this book. Narration keeps you entertained all the way through.
Rx for Love by Michelle Hughes has some unexpected twists. This book is a second chance at love where the main characters each have some baggage, and there is plenty of angst. Melissa Stiletto did a great job bringing the characters to life. Thank you Audiobook Obsession for giving me this book, I really enjoyed it.
Alexa finds her husband in bed with her sister and the drama begins. Eric works at the hospital and is attracted to Alexa. They begin a relationship but then the pregnant sister dies and the soon to be exhusband can't control hisself and takes the family especially Alexa on a downfall of crazy drama. You are rooting for Alexa to get her happiness.
One of those complete books that add story, message and love. Alexa’s and Eric’s baggage added so much to the story. It’s not one of those fairytale story and that’s what I liked the most. Real problems and love in the end to seal the deal.
