Good information, but tends to be a little overhyped
While his first book quickly gets into the meat and potato’s of the subject of eq and compression, I was 45% into the book before the author revealed what he had spent on hype. I can understand a chapter on hype, then another discussing the vernacular he uses to explain the topics. But to spend a page to almost two on what he calls Pocket Compression then almost the rest of the first half of the book hyping this great discovery is a huge waste of time.
While his method for bus compression are interesting on paper and I will definitely try them in practice, I was almost put off finishing the book because it sounded like one of those internet sites that promises that if you keep reading the secret knowledge of the ancients will be revealed, only to have to pay for some package. Is it worth the money he asks? Debatable. If priced the same as the Eq and Compression formula book, most definitely.

I'm impressed with the depth of information in this book.
This is a subject I've been having lots of trouble with. Most of the information I found had explanations that were way too confusing. It's done more for me than all the tutorials I've watched about this type of compression.
This has honestly saved me from stressing out about the quality of my music and I'm glad that I decided to buy this book (;

This book blew me away!
I can't believe I've never learned this anywhere else before. The techniques inside really have given my mixes a much more professional feel.
