Simply put - this was awful. The Hero is an immature ****! I don't think he ever grew up and nor did I buy into the fact that he loved h.

This continual theme of Heros/heroines being in love with each other while they screw other people is getting old. Besides his manwhore ways, there is also the fact that,

Remy has always wanted to be an actress but never made it and her boyfriend is awful to her so she finally leaves him and returns home and starts working for her brother at a bar. I had mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I loved it. Then as the story continued to progress, I was surprised and saddened on the other hand. So really the book is between 3 1/2 stars and 4 stars. I went up because for the most part I did like it. The book was well-written and certainly kept my attention. The brother was amazing. Anyone know if there's a book about him already written?

Wesley was a complicated character. At times, I wanted to wring his neck. He really took Remy for granted. Remy had dreams of her own, but Wesley didn't really seem to care about them either when they were young or when they reconnected years later. I was upset when he flipped his thought process because of the secret that appears near the end of the tale. Remy is broken by it and he all of a sudden realizes just what she means to him. But only because what he fears for his future with Remy has already come to pass and he finds he loves it! I got the impression that if that hadn't happened, then he wouldn't have changes his ways. That's why I hated it! Wesley had no redeeming qualities to him even if he did change at the end and it was all due to how he changed his mind. There wasn't a light bulb moment because of Remy. It was because of outside sources. Remy deserves better. I don't even think the author allowed her to reconcile with the idea of the impact the secret had on her personally either. It was all about Wesley. The epilogue was written to show how it worked out, but in my mind, Remy needed to have closure with Wesley in the book...where was the scene where she talked to him about how it made her feel. I'm sure he would have said "it's none of your business - we weren't together then." That's what I got from the character. He never wanted to be challenged by anyone especially not Remy as to his decisions in life even when it impacted her! Ok, do I reduce the stars given? Sigh. No, I won't because I obviously got into the book because the writing made me feel...granted it was probably not the feeling the author intended...it made me sad, disgusted and angry on Remy's behalf! And it's all due to the writing...which was great! Darn you Ms. Bishop. :)

When Wesley came to see his best friend Quentin he sees Remy his ex-lover. Remy was his first, and most probably his only love, but their volatile relationship couldn’t be held together at their young age. He realizes he never stopped loving Remy and inheritance has a condition which is settling down with a wife and family. Remy needs funds to get her film done and he needs his full inheritance so he puts out his offer to Remy- have his baby and he will help her fund her film. Is anything ever done neatly? Their love story is filled with twists and turns, ups and downs as is their love is still burning bright . This is a beautiful 2nd chance at love story between two ex lovers who love still burns bright. Will an agreed upon baby and a love still burning bright be enough to keep these lovers together forever or will they end up breaking up yet again and going their separate ways? There is a huge twist to this story . Get ready for the rollercoaster ride with this story. Its emotional, angsty, drama filled yet so satisfying.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

I was not expecting this. I was not expecting Wesley and Remy to come off the pages and crush me while they sorted their lives out. Wesley is a free spirit with itchy feet. His childhood best friend Quintin is his touchstone. Quintin's sister Remy was his first, and probably only love, but their volatile relationship couldn’t be sustained at their young age. Fast forward a dozen years, and they slip back into their old patterns. The struggle for love, respect, understanding, fulfilment, independence, and freedom all come to a head. The recklessness of the past has consequences, and at the end it, there's only close friends and family. I loved the grittiness of the characters, their drive to make something of their lives, and figuring out what's really important. Amazing read by a very talented author.

Remy went to LA and did the actress lifestyle but what she really wanted to do was write screenplays and be behind the screen working. Coming home she took some time to write her screenplay while working for her brother. She never expected her brother's best friend would ever come back home and she wasn't exactly happy about it either since he was her ex boyfriend. Wesley was a playboy always used to getting his way and always traveling from place to place until his father called him home. He was given an ultimatum settle down and have an heir or lose out on the family money and business. He goes right to Remy with a proposition have his child but they'll make it all legal with a contract she gets paid for having his child and he'll get the money he's been wanting. Should've been a simple easy plan but its never really simple or easy when feeling get involved. Can Wesley see that he can be everything Remy needs and stop running?

This was an amazing story once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Wesley and Remy is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

I received this from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.

I like Emily Bishop. She writes good characters who have a decent depth of likeability to them.
This one is no different.

Wes and Remy have been 'in love' with each other since they were teenagers, but realised from early on that their lives could never be lived out together.
Wes needed the freedom of his bike and the open road, Remy wanted to make it in LA as an actress.

After a disastrous relationship, Remy returns home to live with her brother, Quintin, and to tend the dive bar he owns.
Wes has to return home for a whole different reason. His brother, Hank, died a couple of years ago, but his father wants an heir from Wes or he doesn't get a penny of his father's money. But where the hell is he going to find a woman that he likes to have his child?

Remy is the perfect and only woman he wants to carry his son. In exchange, he pays her handsomely and she can make her dream come true by finishing her screen play and getting the film made.

Easy peesy. Everyone wins.
But then a blast from a one night stand in the past shows up and puts not only a spanner in the works, but a whole bloody tool box.

Careers, babies, money, and the contact that binds that seems to be how it is going to go for Wesley and Remy.
They had loved each other once, in another time, Highschool was ending and lives where beginning. Remy was destined for one place, Wesley was destined for another.
10 years pass by, along with a lot of sadness, and anger, When Wesley walks back into Remy's life it is in a big way- saddling her with a proposition that would get her career back on track, but most likely break her heart in the process, if she lets him.
Can they come together in the most intimate of ways, to help one another out, without breaking both their hearts?
A sexy, heart explosion of a tale, with obstacles galore!
I loved and hated this book throughout, sometimes at the same time! I had to go back a few times and check the ages of the characters- their maturity levels drove me BONKERS- but then again my 11-year-old daughter tells me I am old so- w.t.h. do I know?!
Never the less, I found this to be a fast mover, with lots of sass, plenty of heart, sexiness running throughout, and enjoyable to read.
4 stars from me!

There is Remy who dated Wesley when she was in High School and never seemed to get over him. She moved to LA when they broke up and worked as an actress but never hit the big time. Went back home when she broke up with her long term boyfriend in LA who treated her like crap and is now working in her brother's bar and writing a screen play. Her goal is to make the screen play into a movie. Then there is Wesley who is a self centered motorcycle riding bad boy who is very self centered and arrogant. His goal is to always be free but when he is asked to do something by his dad, can he refuse? This book made me frustrated at times because both of the main characters were a bit too immature with how life works. There are a couple of surprises that keep you reading. If you like second chance romances, you should give this a read.

I normally love Emily Bishop's stories but this one just didn't work for me. Wes was an immature jerk who just wanted, and did, jump on his bike and ride off leaving a load of lovers in his trail and not settling down anywhere or with any job. His father wants him to settle down and have a legitimate heir as his older brother has died. He sees one of his ex's from high school [also his best friend's younger sister - although she is supposed to be the same age as him whilst he's also the same age as her brother??]  Then one of his many ex's comes along with a child claiming to be his.  Remy and Wes together?? Forever?/ based on this story, I don't think they stand a chance as I wouldn't trust him to not just jump on his bike and go off without a word.  So sorry this book was just not for me. But I do look forward to reading Emily's next story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book with no expectation for leaving a review. This review is being left voluntarily and any and all opinions are my honest thoughts on this book and the authors work. This is a well written angst, passionate book. This second chance baby romance will definitely grab your attention and keep it throughout this storyline. It is very passionate between Wes and Remy and not just in the bedroom and not always in the best way. There is a clash of the bodies, souls, minds and hearts. Can they come to a passionate yet loving middle ground.? Will they make the mistakes of their youth or have they grown up enough to make it work this time while still keeping the good part of their passion in their relationship?

I've read almost all of Emily Bishop's books and i must say that Due Date has knocked it's self into first place of my all time favourites list. This is a story that i won't forget easily and wouldn't it be great if its was made in to a movie?

This second chance romance was well written with interesting characters and alot of emotional upheavel that kept me interested.

Remy and Wesley were highschool sweethearts that walked away from each other to live their lives the way they dreamt it will be.
Remy returns to San Francisco 12 years later after struggling to become an actress. Wesley has been on the back of his bike for the last 12 years drifting from place to place with no idea what he wants to do with his life yet.

I highly recommend this book to all that love a complicated love story.

This one is hard for me because I was really looking forward to it and was excited to read this, especially after her last book that was amazing. This book, I enjoyed the beginning, felt the middle dragged on a bit with some repetitiveness, and then the end, which I was enjoying, felt rushed.
I never felt the connection or love for the characters in this story. They were both too immature and I felt like they both answered problems with running away, Wesley much more than Remy.
It was still a pretty good book but I will say the best parts came towards the end when Maria was introduced. It changed the way I viewed Wesley. I just wish there would have been more with that Wesley than the earlier, insecure and ignorant Wesley..

A well written great storyline that is a second chance romance with a twist that is written in dual POV. I enjoyed the hard road to their HEA. Remy dated Wesley when she was in High School and never seemed to get over him. Wesley felt strongly for Remy but always has the urge to Jrun and ride around the world with no commintent, he feels he is not capable of love, and feels he will hold Remy back and can never love. He finds that unless he produces a heir, he will be cut off family fortune and any ties. Remy needs money to produce her screen write. The come to a decision that they can help each other and not involve feeling.

Second chances are hard. Wesley and Remy were high school sweethearts. They both wanted so much out of life and being young just didn’t know how to make it work. Wesley has been summoned home by his father. His father offers a proposition. Have an heir within six months or no family monies. It’s been twelve years since Remy and Wesley have seen each other . Wesley and Remy discuss a contract for her to have his baby. She needs to the money to complete her screenplay. They agree. I liked this book but sometimes it was hard to handle all the angst. But that’s life. And there is a twist that I didn’t expect! A great book!

Wes left San Francisco to travel and be free and do odd jobs on his travels. His father called him back to home for a meeting with him. His father has given him acoose, produce an heir or loose half the company his father has built.
Wes and Remy were lovers twelve years ago and had a fiery relationship fight and then they would make up.

Remy and Wesley had a thing while in high school but ended up going separate ways when they wanted different things. Remy ends up moving back home after breaking up with her long time boyfriend and ends up working in her brothers bar. Wesley spends his time traveling around on his motorcycle and going from woman to woman with no commitments or worries. It has been 12 years since they've seen or talked to each other and when Wesley's dad tells him he needs to do something for him Wesley can't refuse because his dad had never asked anything of him before he ends up at the bar to see Remy. Will Remy agree to what Wesley asks of her or will she walk away. This is a good book to read. It is well written. I couldn't put it down. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is the story of Remy and Wesley. They used to be a thing, of course that was twelve years ago and it was a very volatile relationship. They fought hard, but they loved just as hard. They went their separate ways. Wesley traveled all over basically just wasting time and screwing women. Remy went to LA to become an actress and writer. After twelve years apart they both end up back in their hometown. Grab this book today and read their captivating story to find out what happens when they see eachother again. Especially since they both need something from one another. It's a wonderful story and definitely worth the read time.

Ok

Remy had returned to to San Francisco to tend bar in her brother's bar after failing to make it as an actress in Hollywood. Wesley, her brother's best friend, was a difter and the love of her life. They were high school sweethearts but their life took different paths. Will they reunite to give Wesley's father the heir he so despdesperately craves or will their reunion be the end of their love story. Will a former fling with a hidden secret put an end to their reconciliation?

The characters were good although a little codependent. The time jumps weren't good and left too many gaps in the story. Why didn't Wesley or his father ask Connecticut for a paternity test for Maria?

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Wesley and Remy. They were once young lovers but it has been years since that time. Both are now in their small town again for different reasons thought. Both have dreams that they just haven't seemed to reach. They wonder now that they are in the same place again should they give it one more try or should they leave the past in the past?

This is an amazing book. It has it's ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. I however don't want to ruin the book for any other readers. I will say that this book will have you hooked from the first page to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from beginning to end. The story line was interesting and well written. The characters were original and endearing. I chemistry between Remy and Wesley was electric, whether they were fighting or loving. They had unfinished business due to them both following their dreams. They had to come to terms with their past, their future and their present to achieve their happy ever after. I’ve read many books from Emily Bishop, she’s one of my favourite authors. This one doesn’t disappoint. Congratulations and thanks, Emily for another excellent book.

Wesley is back in town to see his best friend after leaving years ago. Remy is also back his first love he broke her heart. Remy needs money to get her film out and Wesley needs a wife and child to get his inheritance. So they strike up a deal. This story the plot has a lot of twists that you do not see coming and an ex that is trying their very best to break the reunited couple up. This is a second chance romance but will these two really get their second chance at love again or will they allow the obstacles to get in their way and break them up for good.

Emily takes you on a rollercoaster ride with this book. Lots of twists and turns. Wesley and Remy were high school sweethearts. After graduation, Wesley wanted to travel and Remy wanted to be an actress and write her own screenplay. 12 years after they graduate, they saw each other again. Wesley's brother had died and his father wanted an heir to his tech company. He told Wesley in order to get this brother's wealth and partnership in the company he had to settle down and have a kid. Remy wanted to write her own movie but didn't have the funds. Wesley asked Remy to sign a contract to give him a child. How will Remy respond? Will Wesley settle down?

Solid 4.5 star
Remy and Wesley were together in high school, they were friends, lovers and dreamers but their dreams took them in different directions and left them both broken. Now they meet again after Wesley's farther gives an ultimatum an heir to the family so his fathers business will carry on or walk away from the family and fortune. From here on out its an emotional ride that leaves you frustrated, gutted, angry and swooning as while this is meant to be a business transaction Remy and Wesley try to work out who they really are in life and what they want.

I really enjoyed this book, thought the characters including Quintin and Sam were all very likeable with a real growing up history together story, the storyline was good and loved his dad, but it went a bit downhill for me with the Connie/Maria part, I just didn’t think this story needed it and it made me dislike Wes a bit, he just came over REALLY selfish and unfair to Remy then, think this would’ve been better without that part of the story, it spoilt it for me.

I have to admit that i didn't really care for Wes at one point. How can he be so focused on being a lone wolf that he can't see the wonderful love right in front of him? Remy is a better woman than I because I would have given him the boot. But really, what should you expect from two people who have a contract to have a baby?

This was a funny, heartbreaking, heartwarming and sinful story. And I couldn't have loved it more. I highly recommend this book!

Wes needs an heir before his father gives him is inheritance. Remy needs money to direct her first film. Remy and Wes were high school sweet hearts that had there ups and downs at such a young age. Quite a bit of time has passed between Wes and Remy but when they see each that time has disappeared. So they make a contract to help each other. This book was a great read. It was full of drama and steam. I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline and plot were captivating. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another story where there is a baby contract. Also this one is fairly predictable. Two characters that have been out in the world to find what they were searching for but they have not found it. Now they are just hurt and back in town. He needs an heir and she needs money for her play.
The characters are very well described and they have an amazing chemistry. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating.
I can only recommend this to others.
