Flash fiction stories about modern life. They are quick, funny and a little unexpected. I chose the format of my writing because I know that not everyone has time to read and so with these bite size pieces you get a lot for my 250 words. This book is compiled of six stories based on everyday and ironic living.
This short anthology contains a wonderful blend of themes and ideas all linked to the concept of modernity. What I particularly liked is how the brevity of the pieces within reflects some of the very platforms they criticise. It reads like poetry but has nothing of the sometimes forced delivery of contemporary poets who often utilize spoken performance. Instead you will find ambiguity here, which often leaves you feeling uncomfortable. Ultimately I believe that this is the point. You will be provoked but you will also find in the narrative a voice of sympathy in your confusion.
Funny, gets you thinking about the modern world in a different and comical way. Quick read, ideal for the bath! Would love to read more from Charlotte.
