The book isn't bad, but if there was a point it... took... for... ever..... to......... get........... there. The other reviewers must have unbelievable levels of patience, but I do not.

2 stars plus 1 star for exclusively gay characters, a truly redeeming quality.

I received this book by the author for a honest opinion.
This is a second chance love story. After drifting apart through different life choices, Addison choosing to go into professional American football and leaving Kristoff to peruse this dream, though they still have feelings for each other. When an incident and pressure get to much he packs up and goes back home where he meets Kristoff again. This is there story of rekindling there flame and overcoming there problems. I enjoyed this second love story and its characters. An easy read with humour and characters you could emphasize with and wanting them happy.

Growing Up Is Hard to Do

When Ms. Shaw offered this book as an ARC, I jumped right on it. I've wanted to read one of her books after very briefly meeting her initially on Goodreads. Then as I got to know her in the Mpreg Facebook community I became more determined to get a hold of one of her new Omega stories. And then opportunity knocked. (TMI: I have five reviews to type and write up. Hardest thing about reading all these great books is finding time to complete a a quality review. But I feel compelled to share my experiences with other so they can make more informed reading choices and share my love of reading).

I didn't realize at first that this was a Sports related romance. I'm a huge Baseball can and our city has both a professional Football & Hockey teams with rabid fans. Whenever they make the playoffs I become one of those fans too. The lure of the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup playoffs is so tense, but super exciting. The fans only see one side of the coin. The flip side is so different - the lives of the players.

Seeing the other side - in this case the Football players' side is eye opening. In this case one particular player, a superstar quarterback Addison Matthews. The author let us experience his thoughts and emotions, interactions with his family, friends, his agent, and his love life or lack there of.

There are a few themes present in this book. We put sports players on a pedestal and when they fall off, it's like what happened to Humpty Dumpty. When the fall is the player's own doing there are a few responses "It wasn't my fault". "Why is everyone picking on me?" But in this cause there was a lot guilt: "I never should have done what I did. I'm so sorry I hurt the other player".

Addison Matthews was in more trouble than what happened on the field. He was completely unraveling. His agent was not helping. He found out he really didn't have any friends despite all his years playing. The paparazzi were hounding him pushing Addison closer to the edge. Luckily his parents knew what he needed. Not something they could provide, but they knew who he'd listen to: Lawrence. The one Addison let get away.

He didn't deserve Lawrence's forgiveness, but he certainly wanted it. Lawrence had anger over how their relationship ended still. How could they possibly come to some sort of resolution? They still had feelings for each other, but unresolved pain could mitigate any reconciliation. So many sweet memories. So many fun memories. They were best friends before they became the loves of each other's lives. How could it end so badly? Was there a chance to go back?

NO! But there was a chance to something new, different, built on a stronger foundation. A grown man who still hadn't matured gradually began to do so. It was a slow process, with some setbacks. But a huge motivation for Addison to finally grow up was the little life growing that needed him to be a man, not an out of control spoiled young man used to getting his way and not having serious consequences. His maturation turned him into a main character that I didn't initially like to someone I wanted to be happy.

Addison being happy was a direct result of a more equal mature relationship with Lawrence his Omega. His BFF. His lover. His future partner. This is a story of breaking down in order to be built back up to be a better man. And for you Mpreg fans you are in for some great moments. I will not spoil them for you. But get ready to be surprised, grossed out, burst out laughing, and falling in love with these two newbie Dads to Be and afterwards.

I really enjoyed this story. I am looking forward to reading Alice Shaw's Frisky Pines & Road to Forgiveness series. But be prepared to have some fun with this one.

I wasn't too sure on this book once I'd finished reading it.
Addison and Lawrence are former partners before Addison went off on his professional football career. When it comes to them meeting back up again, old habits seem to return between the two with Lawrence supporting Addison when needed.
I found myself getting frustrated with the MC's, with treatment of Lawrence by Addison and the continuation of behaviours by both men that didn't help either for quite a while.
I liked the way that the story turned out and how worked for the pair but I don't think that there was much that was happening outside of these two and how they needed to move on from their past behaviour and actions. Addison developed throughout the book, you could see him growing with responsibility and maybe Lawrence's positive influence. I also enjoyed the setting of the book and the gentleman that Lawrence works with brings a bit of comedy to the story.
I'm glad to have read the story and am looking forward to reading Alice's work in the future but don't think this would be one I'd go back to.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review

This is a sweet, emotional second chance romance and I thoroughly loved reading it. This book is about: a alpha male football star (Addison) who decided years ago, that his football career was more important to him than his omega (Kristoff). Addison made an error in judgement and retires but is depressed and drinking a lot, his family contacts Kristoff to help him. Kristoff is now a caregiver and seems to have moved on with his life but still has a thing for Addison. Addison and Kristoff spend some time together and they both realize that there is still a spark between them.
What you will find in this wonderful book is: drama, humor, regrets, memories, apologies, emotional conflict, rumors, confrontations, promises, romance, lust, love, passion and erotic scenes.
The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, the pace is steady and not rushed. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a non-shifter M/M romance with a HEA, I doubt that you would be disappointed in this book

Addison is an Alpha Football Star who gets scared and leaves behind his Boyfriend, Kristoff, who is an Omega.

Years later, they are reunited. Addison decides to retire from football after he injures another player on a hit. He is depressed and needs help. His family calls upon Kristoff to talk to him. When he does, the sparks are still there.

Together, they are able to come clean about the past, revive their relationship, and start a family.

This was a very sweet second chance story. I enjoyed the romance between the men, the hot sex, and the humor. I loved how wonderfully forgiving Kristoff was. And I loved the friends in the story.

Love this second chance romance! This story kept me glued to my kindle from beginning to end. Kristoff and Addison are spectacular characters and their chemistry sizzles right off the pages. They are perfect together and I loved seeing how they worked through everything together. The secondary characters were great and really enriched the story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Avery enjoyable M/M Mpreg romance. A second chance romance that has a great blend of sweetness, steam, and powerful emotions. Addison and Lawrence have good chemistry and are very likable. Can these two move beyond their past and embrace a future together? Read this book to find out. I am posting a voluntary, honest review after reading this book.

This is a steamy second chance romance. Addison is an alpha and he left his omega for a football career, now that he has retired he wants him back. The chemistry is still steamy, can he convince his omega to come back to him or has he hurt him to much. This is a fast-paced romance with plenty of drama and steamy chemistry. I liked the characters and their story. A good read.

Yet another Omegaverse book with big-ass typos that can easily be corrected with the cheapest software... and I have spent several chapters wondering "Who in the hell is Kristoff?" Well, I didn't focus, I was too busy looking for Lawrence.

1 * star, it's the best rating I can give to that "thing". I detest botched work. This is definitely not worth a penny...
