The Path to Serendipity: Discover the Gifts Along Life's Journey by Allyson Apsey is a book for all educators, no matter the grade, subject, and age of the students with whom you interact on a daily basis. Apsey's inspiring words and stories surround your entire being with joy, gratitude, and excitement as you discover new ways to love, appreciate, and grow with those around you, both personally and professionally. The stories she shares come from her own personal experiences, yet she tells them in such a way that you actually wonder if the two of you have met at some point because they are your stories, too.

Easily relatable and wonderfully received, Apsey opens the door to her heart and allows us to take a look at her world, so we, ourselves, can take a look at our own. She gives us hope and fills us with the desire to overcome difficult challenges, as we learn to build and improve the many types of relationships in our lives. She helps us find the courage and strength to accept and embrace the good right alongside the "not-so-good" moments life has to offer...because only then can we truly see and understand the lesson to be learned. Only then, can we have true growth within ourselves. And, only then, will we truly be happy.

The ideas Allyson Apsey presents and discusses throughout the book and on her YouTube channel, are crucial to one's success and happiness. In reading The Path to Serendipity and reflecting on these ideas, I discovered a new side of myself that I didn't know existed! Being able to apply these learnings to my everyday life has opened my eyes to a whole new world. Life's challenges, struggles, and joys all seem to have new meaning. There is definitely a reason for everything, and, yes, every cloud does have a silver lining. Thank you Mrs. Apsey for helping me see that. :-)

I really enjoyed Allyson Apsey's book. Each chapter was short, making it a quick and easy read. It was refreshing to know that I was not alone in my insecurities that come with teaching. This is a great professional development book to read with others, reflect on the lessons, or to use the discussion questions at the end to reflect on.
