honestly this is one of my favourites novels to ever exist, the plot is soooo good, there is not much novels with a female protagonist on here but this one outdid every book i read with a FP,the development is quite good not slow and not fast just the right pace, the translation is perfect im truly fascinated and i send my encouragement and appreciation to the translator, the only regretful thing is that we only get to read one chapter per day

Ling Lan gets a second chance at life after suffering from disease and dying at a young age. However, her life in a new world quickly gets dangerous. Forced to pretend to be a boy after her father's disappearance in a patriarchal society, Ling Lan reluctantly enters an all-boys academy. She soon becomes the unofficial “boss” of the grade and draws attention from unwanted sources; all while hiding her gender and the presence of a mystical learning space inside her head. Everything intensifies when her father, Ling Xiao, returns after 16 years.

In It’s Not Easy to Be a Man After Traveling to the Future, supporting characters are made integral and significant to the novel. In addition to the main character Ling Lan, the backgrounds, character, and development of the team members as the novel progresses are noted in detail. One example is when after Ling Lan is injured, significant space is given in the novel for their personal exploits and as a team without her. Their presence not only as supporting characters made the plot more unique and the storyline less of a jump between events like other novels in the genre.

This also highlighted the lack of filler present in It’s Not Easy to Be a Man After Traveling to the Future. Filler, or side stories with little importance, is found in novels of all genres as well as in film, TV, and manga, usually between arcs or conflicts. In It’s Not Easy to Be a Man After Traveling to the Future, the importance of character development and supporting characters led to very few instances of filler, and smooth transitions between day to day activities and big events led to very little “breaks” in the plot.

Tbh, I didn’t know whether the date was supposed to be when the book started/ended or when I started/finished the book, so I just put in when the book started/ended. There is about 1482 chapters, and if it’s over, it’s a lie. I have been waiting for an update and it hasn’t release any chapters. I look everywhere and it ended out of nowhere. It’s not completed. It just stopped. Madam Ru stopped producing chapters for the readers to read. I was very devastated that I couldn’t read any more 🤧. However, there is a manga version which is a good thing. Hopefully, they finish the story.

I honestly first found this in Webnovel at its infancy(the uploads of translations). I got so into it and I was reading this even during my high school exams. IT WAS THAT GOOD. I WOULD LITERALLY FANGIRL AND SCREAM AT NIGHT AND GET SCOLDED FOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS THAT GOOD. THIS IS SUCH A GREAT BOOK I CONSIDER THIS MY FAVORITE NOVEL RIGHT NEXT TO ONE PIECE AS MY FAVORITE MANGA! GIRL!! THE SUBSTANCE IN BOTH IS SO HIGH!!. I got into college and dropped this due to obvious reasons. WAHHH!!! I WANNA READ THIS OVER AGAIN! GOTTA SUPPORT THIS!!

I honestly like this kind of stories and I didn't have any problems with the genre, otherwise I wouldn't have read this. And overall even now it is still one of my favorites. Although the story hasn't been all translated in english I still keep up with the raws. I think that the story will not be everyones cup of tea but I think this story is also worth to read.

I started this novel a bit sceptical. Most female lead novels are extremely reliant on a strong male supporting character, and a lot of chinese women needing a man type of cliches, but this novel has surprised me greatly. Its has a good plot, is funny and reads easily. I like it :D View More

Took me weeks to read, my absolute favourite web novel. Not completed, will never be completed. Is the journey still worth it? Absolutely. When I say it took me weeks, I'm saying I barely did anything but read this for weeks. Captivating, stunning, magnificent. Complex, intriguing, and masterfully crafted.
If I had a genie in a bottle, one of my wishes would be for be able to read a completed version of this. Hat off to Madam Ru, imo the most genius author I ever stumbled upon.

No, has the production of this novel stopped? No, I still want the rest of the chapters... The most novel I have read for a long time without going to the end directly. I read it chapter by chapter and now you say its production has stopped???!!!!!! 🥺🤧💔💔💔

How is this as good as it is? I have no idea, but it's wildly entertaining.

First off, I'm not wild about the whole Gender Bender genre. It doesn't bother me for the most part but I don't find it to be a reason to start a series. In "It's Not Easy to Be a Man After Traveling to the Future" though... oh boy, the comedy the author is able to extract from this set up is absolutely brilliant. I remember being quite entertained by the shenanigans in Ranma 1/2, but finding them to be quite old after about 3 volumes. Here, it never gets old. There's always more comedy to mine from the situations these characters get into.

Speaking of Characters, these are all great but our Heroine is an all-star. Ling Lan is up there with my all time favorite characters. The juxtaposition between her sensitive caring side and the iron will she's developed over two lifetimes of tragic survival is absolutely compelling! I love her indomitable will and drive, and I think it's this dead seriousness in the character's treatment of events paired with the afore mentioned situational comedy that really drives this book forward.

I absolutely love it.
