The first full survey of the artist's work in more than two decades includes brilliant color reproductions of sixty paintings as well as eighty works on paper and copious details of the artist's life and career as he drifted from Cubism to Suprematism to Surrealism over the course of his long life. 20,000 first printing.
Enjoyed immersing myself in yet another book about Chagall. I loved its illustrations and the overview of Chagall’s life, and the discussion of how he differed from other artists of his time. I only wish there was more there on his painting techniques.
A fairly typical art book, but an enjoyable walk through the work of incredible artist Marc Chagall. Thankfully there are plenty of good-sized pictures of the works. As in many art books, the text is interesting in a few places, but is rather dull in others. What makes this special is Chagall's talent and seeing it change through the course of his career.
