From the book blurb: Laura Chabre, an American married to a wealthy Frenchman, has narrowly escaped two nearly fatal accidents. But who is trying to kill her, and why? She carefully plans her escape from her solicitous husband and his hovering chauffeur. Hidden in the French countryside, she calls her host family from long ago to ask for help - a contact - but not François. Definitely not François...

I love this book! It's the perfect combination of suspenseful plot, gutsy heroine, and good writing. Laura's growing suspicions lead her to escape by bicycling across rural France, using her intelligence -- and her former host family's WWII Resistance experience -- to stay a step ahead of her pursuers.
