This book was really helpful for getting spark set up. The walkthrough of the databricks community edition was especially useful.
I am abandoning it though, it looks like all of the examples are scala only, and it feels like there is some emphasis on teaching me scala as well as spark. I am sure that is great for some people, but right now I want python.
