Raven I was born an anomaly…a charity case with no one and to no one. Year after year, I became used to the emptiness…used to the unspoken pain. When Marco walked into my life, all those thoughts scrambled. Who I thought I was…what I thought I was, and the struggle of breaking out of those chains took everything from inside me. He’s doing all he can to rebuild a world I’d learned to live in broken. I thought I was ready to be whole, but when I’m faced with the circumstances surrounding my birth family, I freeze. I’m just not sure I’m made for this type of love.
Marco She thought I changed her, but she changed my whole life…brightened my dark days. I was getting by day by day, until I met Raven. That’s when I realized something else was missing…hell, a lot was missing. And, she changed it all as soon as she held me captive in her gaze. I knew from the moment I laid eyes on her what many take years to know. She will be my future wife…my only feat is getting her to feel the same. Will Raven and Marco realize how much they need each other before the New Year’s ball drops?
*This is a 20k short story with a happily ever after, no cliffhanger, no cheating, and plenty of steam.*
Raven had so much self doubt going on about herself. The lies that were told to her about her family impacted how she felt about her self worth. She saw herself as a monster not worth loving until she met her best friends brother Marco. The moment they met , they knew they were each other's soul mates. Marco just had to make Raven, aka Chu-chi see what he saw in her. By revealing the truth about her family, he won her heart, love and soul.
Marco was disillusioned by his failed marriage. His total focus was to get full custody of his son Naim. When he met Raven, it was as if he was drawn to her and knew he found love again.
Elizabeth wrote a sweet easy read love story about a young woman with low self worth who has her life turn around by a man who had this overwhelming need to love and protect her the first time they met.
"Marco was my demise. He was my undoing, my Achilles heel, and he knew it. My soul was his to do as he wished with, and I couldn’t wait to see the places he would take me." — Raven
“I love you, and I’ll never let anyone hurt you. I’ll protect you. I’ll be here for you when you’re about to fall. No one will ever be able to hurt you, again.”— Marco
This was a short, sweet and definitely steamy interracial romance. It's very rare, when I come across a decent bw/wm romance. This book reminded me of my husband and I. About meeting your soulmate (like you've known them forever), falling hopelessly in love and being completely devoted to that person. This book wasn't about color, how rich the guy was, or how he was going to save the girl crap, etc. This, damn, book right here is frickin' bloody brilliant! This was about the LOVE between two people!
Raven and Macro are absolutely amazing together. Their chemistry is undeniable and attraction is off the charts! Love how Marco was with her, how he just wanted to love her and take all her pain away and show her how beautiful and amazing she is. And lets not forget how dominate Marco is *Sigh*
Wonderful short story, I'm however waiting on a sequel... Because with no epilogue I don't know what happened when she went back to school to finish her semester... Will Jerry, the douche back off? Will Marco visit often, with his demanding job? Will he wait to get married after her graduation.... Etc... So miss Elisabeth, we need a #2!!! Great read! Here is a taste:
...the places he would take me. “I love you,” he said after he removed his lips from mine. He kissed my tears. “Open your eyes, baby,” he demanded as he continued at that forbidden pace. “Look at me.” I opened my eyes and looked at him. He was so close to my face that I wouldn’t have been able to look at anything else. “I love you, and I’ll never let anyone hurt you. I’ll protect you. I’ll be here for you when you’re about to fall. No one will ever be able to hurt you, again.” “I love you, Marco.
It just happened so fast, then some things were not fully explained! So, while there was much passion, you just missed the path that got them to that level of passion! Then, one minute Chu-Chi agonizes that she is a throwaway product of a rape, then the next time you find that both her parents died, but they were madly in love. There was family on both sides, so who abandoned her at a Catholic orphanage? It is not fully fleshed out, so you leave the story confused and feel that you missed something somewhere!
I really think there was a lot of potential here, storywise and style wise, but the author did not go deep or far enough to give a full bodied and complete novel! I also looked for more of the author’s work, but it appears that she has left the profession! Sad, because I found great potential in both books that I read from her works!
The story had just enough to make you wish for more. As I have questions as to why Raven was lead to believe such a thing about her birth. I have questions as to why Marco was drawn to Raven in such a way. I just have questions and for that reason I rated the story what I did.
I felt the story had a mountain of subplots that needed to be unpacked. I did love Katie and her relationship with Raven.
Throughout the story I just wanted something that didn't scream moving at a rapid pace without resolve.
Raven lived a sad existence..... thinking she was the product of rape, she didn't feel that she deserved love. To further illustrate her feelings, her current boyfriend had just dumped her by TEXT! When she went home for the holidays with her best friend, she met Marco... her friend's older brother. Marco took one look at Raven and knew she was the one....he just had to show her that she was worthy of love. This is my first story by this author.... I loved the emotions and the healing.... Marco really knew how to take charge!
Wow! This is my first book by this author and I loved it! Oh my gosh! Can I say that I love a dominant man? Not every author can pull off the intensity, edginess, and sex appeal! Serving up a hot as hell Alpha! I didn’t think he would be cable of expressing his feelings and would be hateful to her. I was pleasantly surprised!
Once again Elizabeth, you've weaved a tail of pure magic. Marco fell in lust at first, then eventually in love with Raven. Marco went through extraordinary measures to give Raven the true background surrounding her birth. Marco, went on to farther show Raven that she was worthy of being loved, and loved by him.
Thanks once again Elisabeth for a Truly Heartwarming Holiday love story. Marco and Raven are truly meant for each other. Both broken half's of each other healing together. I loved this book, but anything Elisabeth writes is SPECTACULAR
I'm glad that this book was not my introduction to this author. If this is YOUR first time reading this author, PLEASE pick one of her latest works instead.
I'm in love with Elisabeth talents she has brought us another man that will set our panties on fire and fill our hearts with joy and set off the butterflies in our stomachs. I love Marco and his persona gives of 100% man. I know you will enjoy this hot holiday romance I definitely did.
Just in Time: A Holiday Romance is an inter-racial romance by Elizabeth. In it we meet Raven (Chu-Chi) and Marco. Raven and Marco carry emotional wounds. From her earliest memory, Raven was told she is an anomaly, a monster, because she is the result of a rape. Consequently, she feels unwanted and unlovable. Marco’s failed romance left him disillusioned. Circumstances bring these two together. Upon meeting, there is an attraction.
Elizabeth penned a short, sweet, and steamy romance. She brings together two lead characters with an amazing chemistry. Her romantic plot line focuses on how these two navigates their romantic journey. I appreciated Elizabeth’s mastery of conversational and internal dialog. I would have appreciated it if Elizabeth included an epilogue to address unanswered questions. I am curious as to what happened to Raven’s ex-boyfriend. Did he interact with her when she returned to finish her last semester? Also, there was no closure between Marco and his ex.
I truly enjoyed Raven and Marco's story. I'm glad Raven finally got closure and was able to see she wasnt alone. Her nickname was adorable. It was nice to have an appearance from previous characters. I love this Arthur I can't wait to see what she has in store next.
The grammar and sentence structure were terrible. The story line was very simple. I really don't like writing poor reviews but this story was so bad I had to do it. I hope this writer continues to write but will invest in a good editor.
