I studied this book for my courses MATH 1280 - 1281 (introduction to statistics and statistical inference). It was a fairly good introduction to the statistics world. Sometimes, the book complicated the matters and sometimes it simply put it. However, when you don't understand something in this book, read the chapter twice or thrice, and you will get it :)).
The most interesting parts are the exercises and R applications. The calculations depend on R language, which is way easier than manual calculations. The textbook is two parts, introduction to statistics, which deals with simple statistical topics, and statistical inference, which deals with inferential statistics topics.

Introduction to Statistical Thinking by Benjamin Yakir is an excellent resource for those looking to build a strong foundation in statistics. Its clear explanations and practical examples make complex concepts accessible to beginners, making it ideal for students and self-learners. Interestingly, the logical approach to probability and data analysis presented in this book can also inspire the creation of intricate plots and systems in a fantasy novel. By applying statistical thinking, authors can craft more believable and structured worlds, adding depth and realism to their storytelling. Overall, it's a versatile and valuable guide for both academic and creative pursuits.
