It was so lovely to be back in Littlewood with these three fabulous women once more. This is a great follow up to part 1 because this part starts with checking in on where each of these women are now and a little, very gentle and subtle reminder as to where we left them in the last part of the book. These women really are great to read about and the whole premise behind the random acts of kindness is such a comforting concept.
This part is no less action packed than the last. Eszter is now more established in the community and we get to find out more about her relationship with her husband's mother. I really do think there is going to be way more to this storyline than meets the eye. Eszter seems to be a feisty individual and so I can't wait to see what she gets up to in future parts. Louise is probably the most underrated of the three women. Always there for everyone and always helping others in her role as nurse, I really feel like we're going to see more action from her in future parts too, we definitely get to see a different side to her in part 2, I'm saying no more than that! And Abbie has an important decision to make in part 2. She too is now more established in the community and I have loved seeing her relationship with her sister grow and grow as this story has gone on.
This part also deals with the subject of the prejudice that surrounds immigration and shines a light on the fact that not everyone is always accepting to people who are new to the country. Obviously this is a warm and comforting read, but it still does bring that issue to the forefront and I liked the fact that this author wasn't afraid to do that. Make no mistake though, this part left me feeling just as warm and fuzzy as part one, with complete story lines for each of these three women. I can't wait to see what part 3 brings!
This book follows on from the first in the series. I honestly couldn't wait to get my hands on the next 3 books after reading the 1st, but thought I'd wait to read the last 3 until the last book had been published. Whoever reads this series will not be disappointed. Anyways, Book 2! It was wonderful being back in Littlewood and following the lives and friendships of Abbie, Louise and Eszter. You really never know what is going to happen next. Not to mention the rollercoaster of emotions and feeling like you want to scream at the book, come on peoples, open your eyes and get with the men!!! I mean come on... both Alex and Thomas sound like a dream pair! I'm giving this heartwarming, feel good read a 5/5 rating as I believe that kindness does go a long way and the concept of this book truly is beautiful! After recently reading Part One in this new four part mini series by Victoria Walters I was eagerly awaiting Part Two. Now after finishing Part Two my need to find out what happens next with our new book friends in Littlewood is great. Part Two was as equally delightful as our first introduction to Abbie, Louise and Eszter. Littlewood apoears to be a little haven for the girls as they each moved to the small town for different reasons. The girls are now feeling settled with their new lives and especially Abbie and Eszter who are the most recent visitors to the area. Abbie is fulfilling her act of kindness by helping out at the grand hotel in the town and Eszter is settling her late husband's wishes by visiting his birth home and mother. New friendships are being made bringing much hope for the future. However, this is not to last and the girls are now facing stumbling blocks. How will they cope with these new directions and distractions that are being thrown their way? Will all the good they have built in the little town soon be a forgotten memory?
Another charming instalment in this wonderful feel-good series. Littlewood has captured my imagination and a little piece of my heart.
